Noel Cabangon
Noel Gadiano Cabangon (born December 25, 1963) is a Filipino folk singer and composer, known for composing socially-relevant songs. In 1987, he formed the group ''Buklod'' together with Rene Boncocan and Rom Dongeto. Early life Noel Gadiano Cabangon was born on December 25, 1963, in the town of Rosario, La Union. At the age of ten, he began his musical career and learned to play the guitar that he borrowed from a neighbor. He made a name for himself in the local music scene in 1982 beginning in little-known folk houses and bars. Music career In 1987, he formed the group ''Buklod'' together with Rene Boncocan and Rom Dongeto. They produced three albums: ''Bukid at Buhay, Tatsulok,'' and ''Sa Kandungan ng Kalikasan''. The band wrote and performed songs about the environment, human rights, and politics. Rosario, La Union
Rosario, officially the Municipality of Rosario ( ilo, Ili ti Rosario; pag, Baley na Rosario; fil, Bayan ng Rosario), is a 1st class municipality in the province of La Union, Philippines. "Tatsulok" (''Filipino word literally translated to'' Triangle; ''paraphrased as'' Pyramid) is a Filipino folk song originally composed by Rom Dongeto in 1989 and performed in 1991 by his trio folk-rock band, called "Buklod", which includes Noel Cabangon and Rene Boncocan. The song explains to a young man that there's an ongoing war and that the war is just the effect of a bigger problem. It tells the young man to take action and topple a pyramid upside-down to end a never-ending war between the rich and the poor. The song was popularized in 2007 by the band, Bamboo, when they released their third album ''We Stand Alone Together'' with their version of Tatsulok along with it. The Awit Awards are music awards in the Philippines given annually by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) to recognize the outstanding achievements in the music industry.
