Noble Wimberly Jones
Noble Wimberly Jones (c. 1723 – January 9, 1805) was an American physician and statesman from Savannah, Georgia. A leading Georgia patriot in the American Revolution, he served as a delegate to the Continental Congress in 1781 and 1782. Early years Born in Lambeth, England, he immigrated to North America with his parents, who settled in Savannah in 1733, the first group of white settlers of the Province of Georgia. He was often known by his full name to distinguish him from his father, Noble Jones, who became one of the leading officials of the Province of Georgia. As a youth, Jones served in the Georgia Militia under James Oglethorpe, helping to protect the province from Native Americans and the Spanish. Jones accumulated thousands of acres of land, including his estate at Wormsloe, in the young colony. Noble Alfred Villeneuve (August 1, 1938 – February 28, 2018) was a politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1983 to 1999, and served as a cabinet minister in the governments of Frank Miller and Mike Harris. Background Noble Villeneuve was a strong advocate for farmers across Ontario. Villeneuve was a beef and cash crop farmer on Dyer Road in Maxville, Ontario, as well as a farm real estate appraiser. Noble Winfield Threewitt (February 24, 1911 – September 17, 2010) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse trainer who conditioned horses for seventy-five years before retiring on his ninety-sixth birthday. The city of Arcadia, California, home to Santa Anita Racetrack, declared February 24, 2007 to be "Noble Threewitt Day." Born in Benton, Illinois, Threewitt grew up in a small town where his father worked as a bookkeeper for a coal company. Introduced to horse racing at county fairgrounds, in his teens he rode in a few races in Kansas City but soon weight gain ended his days as a jockey. In 1932 he embarked on a career as a professional trainer at Agua Caliente Racetrack in Tijuana, Mexico. At age twenty-one, he was the youngest licensed American trainer at that time. Noble Kizer
Noble Earl "Nobe" Kizer Sr. (March 11, 1900 – June 13, 1940) was an American football and basketball player, football coach, and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Purdue University from 1930 to 1936. During his tenure as head coach, he won two Big Ten Conference titles and compiled a record of 42–13–3. Kizer was also the athletic director from 1933 until his death in 1940. From 1922 to 1924, Kizer played right guard at Notre Dame under Knute Rockne. In 1925, he became an assistant coach at Purdue under James Phelan and inherited the head coaching position upon Phelan's departure for the University of Washington. Noble Jones
Noble Jones (1702 – November 2, 1775), an English-born carpenter, was one of the first settlers of the Province of Georgia and one of its leading officials. He was born in Herefordshire. As part of Gen. James Edward Oglethorpe's 42nd (old) Regiment of Foot, he commanded Georgia's Northern Company of Marines during the War of Jenkins' Ear (1739–48). He was the father of Noble Wimberly Jones, a physician, Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives, and prominent leader of the Georgia patriots during the American Revolution. Noble Jones established the Wormsloe Plantation eight miles from Savannah in the late 1730s. Most of the plantation is now open to the public as a state historic site. Noble Craig (died April 26, 2018) was an American actor who became known for his roles in horror films after having lost both of his legs and one of his arms in the Vietnam War. Military service Craig was drafted into the United States Army on May 3, 1967, during the Vietnam War, and was sent to Vietnam in April 1969. On his twelfth day of duty while serving with the 82nd Airborne Division, he stepped on a buried artillery shell or land mine, causing him to lose both of his legs, his right arm, and most of the sight in his right eye. Noble Johnson (April 18, 1881 – January 9, 1978), later known as Mark Noble, was an American actor and film producer. He appeared in films such as ''The Mummy'' (1932), ''The Most Dangerous Game'' (1932), ''King Kong'' (1933) and ''Son of Kong'' (1933). Biography Standing 6'2" and weighing 215 pounds, Johnson had an impressive physique that made him in demand as a character actor and bit player.
