Noam Zylberman
Noam Zylberman (born June 30, 1973) is an Israeli-born Canadian voice actor. Early life Zylberman was born in Haifa, Israel to Jewish parents. His family relocated to Canada when he was two years old. He attended Arlington Middle School and Vaughan Road Collegiate school in Toronto, and has an older sister, Ilana. Career While growing up in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Zylberman booked his own audition for a Crunchie commercial at age ten, and had landed several voice acting jobs in animated TV series by the time he was 13 years old. He went on to provide voices for many characters on animated series such as ''The Raccoons'', ''ALF Tales'', ''Garbage Pail Kids'', ''Sylvanian Families'', and ''The Care Bears''. He gained some notoriety playing the title role in ''The Outside Chance of Maximilian Glick'', a coming-of-age feature film about being Jewish in a multicultural rural Manitoba town. ''Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater'' is an animated series based on the Japanese character Hello Kitty, produced by DIC Enterprises and animated by Toei Animation. My Pet Monster is a character that began as a plush doll first produced by American Greetings in 1986. It has horns, blue fur, and a fanged smile, wearing breakaway orange plastic handcuffs. The property was sold to Saban Brands in 2012. Then in 2018, Hasbro acquired the My Pet Monster brand from Saban Brands. Plush The My Pet Monster character began as a plush doll first produced by AM Toys, a subsidiary of American Greetings, in 1986. As one of the few plush dolls marketed to boys at the time, My Pet Monster was popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The doll has blue fur, horns and a fanged smile, and is recognizable by its orange plastic handcuffs. The handcuffs could also be worn by children and came with a breakaway link so that the child could simulate breaking the chain. The series was broadcast on YTV in Canada and on ABC in the United States, and on ITV in the United Kingdom. It was based on the 1950s EC Comics series ''Tales from the Crypt'' and the live action television series of the same name, which aired concurrently on HBO. Intended for children, ''Tales from the Cryptkeeper'' was significantly milder than its live action version and all blood and gore, profanity and sexual content were completely removed in order to target the audience. ''The Wild Puffalumps'' is a 22-minute direct-to-video animated cartoon, based on the Puffalump toy line of the same name. It was produced by Nelvana, and released on videocassette in the United States by Family Home Entertainment in 1988 and in Canada by Cineplex Odeon and MCA. This cartoon was intended to act as an advertisement for the “Wild Puffalumps” toy line, which consisted of vividly-colored Puffalumps wearing Aloha shirts and sunglasses whose lenses displayed the word “WILD” when seen at the proper angle. The glasses were large enough that the children who owned the toys could wear them, a fact which was pointed out in the television commercial for the toys.
