Noah Williams (diver)
Noah Oliver Williams (born 15 May 2000) is an English Diving (sport), diver who represents Great Britain and specialises in the 10 metre platform event. He has won silver medals in the 10 metre synchro platform with Matthew Dixon (diver), Matthew Dixon at the European Championships (multi-sport event), European Championships and the Commonwealth Games. Early life Williams is from Hoxton in Hackney, London. He was about nine when he first tried diving – while at school, he saw a leaflet from Crystal Palace Diving seeking talent and went to try out the sport, and was accepted. He received support from Hackney's Youth Sports Fund and won the Hackney Sports Awards for six years. He now trains at the London Aquatics Centre. 2019 European Diving Championships
The 2019 European Diving Championships were held in Kyiv, Ukraine from 5 to 11 August 2019. This was the sixth edition of the stand-alone European Diving Championships, Championships, and the 40th European Championships in diving in total, including the diving portion of the European Aquatics Championships. London Aquatics Centre
The London Aquatics Centre is an indoor facility with two swimming pools and a diving pool in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London. The centre, designed by architect Zaha Hadid as one of the main venues of the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Paralympics, was used for the swimming, diving and synchronised swimming events. After significant modification, the centre opened to the public in March 2014. Design The centre was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid in 2004 before London won the bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Hackney is a district in East London, England, forming around two-thirds of the area of the modern London Borough of Hackney, to which it gives its name. Hoxton
Hoxton is an area in the London Borough of Hackney, England. As a part of Shoreditch, it is often considered to be part of the East End – the historic core of wider East London. It was historically in the county of Middlesex until 1889. It lies immediately north of the City of London financial district, and was once part of the civil parish and subsequent Metropolitan Borough of Shoreditch, prior to its incorporation into the London Borough of Hackney. The European Championships is a multi-sport tournament which brings together the existing European Championships of some of the continent's leading sports every four years. The inaugural edition in 2018 was staged by the host cities of Berlin, Germany and Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom between 2 and 12 August. The second edition in 2022 took place in Munich, Germany. Matthew Lewis Dixon (born 19 April 2000) is an English diver who represents Great Britain and specialises in the 10 metre platform event. He won a silver medal at the European Championships in the 10 m synchro platform with Noah Williams as well as two silvers at the Commonwealth Games. Career 2012–13 At the 2012 British National Cup Matthew finished 12th in the 10 m platform. At the 2013 British Diving Championship he finished 10th in the 3 m springboard and 5th in the 10 m Platform preliminaries. 2014: Commonwealth Games At the 2014 European Junior Championships he finished 15th in the 1 m Springboard, 8th in the 3 m Springboard and won Bronze on the platform. 2022 Commonwealth Games
The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations that took place in Birmingham, England between 28 July and 8 August 2022. Birmingham was announced as host on 21 December 2017.
