No Trespassing (1975 Film)
''No Trespassing'' ( ro, Pe aici nu se trece, lit. "One does not pass through here") is a 1975 Romanian historical drama directed by Doru Năstase and written by Titus Popovici. It follows the events around the Battle of Păuliș, fought during World War II. The film is known in English as ''No Trespassing!'', a mistranslation of the title, which actually refers to They shall not pass, a popular phrase used in a staunch military defense. Plot The film opens just before King Michael's Coup of August 1944, at the Reserve Infantry NCOs School of Radna. Students are regularly harassed and abused by the Germany in World War II, German officers present, in particularly the Schutzstaffel, SS officer Reinhardt (Motoi). When the coup occurs, the students turn against the Germans and arrest most of them, with Reinhardt fleeing in the night. The ''Schutzstaffel'' (SS; also stylized as ''ᛋᛋ'' with Armanen runes; ; "Protection Squadron") was a major paramilitary organization under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in Nazi Germany, and later throughout German-occupied Europe during World War II. Ilarion Ciobanu (; 28 October 1931 – 7 September 2008) was a Romanian actor. He has been described as "a legend" in the press and the last true Romanian comic. Biography Ciobanu was born in Ciucur, Tighina County, Kingdom of Romania (now Moldova), in a family with six brothers. When he was 8, his father, Vlase, a longshoreman in the Port of Constanța, died in an accident. His mother, Olga, moved to Constanța, where she had to work as a cook at a hospital to support her children, two of whom would die due to illness. From age 12, Ciobanu held a variety of jobs: he worked as a longshoreman, farmer, tractor driver, miner, digger, carpenter, sailor, and fisherman. He distinguished himself as a volunteer at the building of the Bumbești– Livezeni railroad; as a dump truck driver, he transported stone from Ovidiu for the construction of the Danube–Black Sea Canal. Ion Cornel Coman (born 13 July 1981 in Braşov) is a Romanian football player who plays for Precizia Săcele as a striker. He started his senior career in his home town, Braşov. After his loan to Forex Braşov from FC Brașov, the Forex administration signed him as their own player, as he became a first eleven choice for them. His Liga II performances helped his team almost reach Liga I, but, after the loss in the 2005–2006 play-off for first league promotion, the team was soon dissolved (in 2008) and Coman had to find work elsewhere. Following the outbreak of World War II on 1 September 1939, the Kingdom of Romania under King Carol II officially adopted a position of neutrality. However, the rapidly changing situation in Europe during 1940, as well as domestic political upheaval, undermined this stance.
