No Que No
''No Que No...'' (idiom: "I told you so...") is an album by Mexican recording artist Pedro Fernández, released by EMI/Capitol Latin May 2012. This album was nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album for the 13th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2012 where Pedro also performed the title song, "No Que No...". Background The album was produced by Pedro Fernández with Manuel Calderón and coordinated by Jorge Avendaño, who has worked with artists such as Placido Domingo, Edith Márquez, Ana Gabriel, and Lucero, among many others. This album has the participation of great arrangers like Eduardo Magallanes, Fernando de Santiago and Aneiro Taño. María Guadalupe Araujo Yong (born December 10, 1955), better known as Ana Gabriel, is a Mexican singer and songwriter from Guamuchil, Sinaloa, Mexico. She first sang on the stage at age six, singing "Regalo A Dios" by José Alfredo Jiménez. She moved to Tijuana, Baja California and studied accounting. Nelson Ned d'Ávila Pinto (2 March 1947 – 5 January 2014) was a Brazilian singer-songwriter. He built a solid career as a singer and composer of sentimental, suffering songs, rising to popularity in Brazil and Latin America in 1969 and becoming known internationally, especially in Portugal, France and Spain. In 1971 he released his first Spanish album, "Canción Popular" and performed in the US, Latin America, Europe, and Africa. He was the first Latin artist to sell a million records in the U.S. with his hit "Happy Birthday My Darling" in 1974. He did instrumental work for the "Electric Moog Orchestra" in 1977. Rigoberto Tovar García (March 29, 1946 – March 27, 2005), better known as Rigo Tovar, was a Mexican musician, singer and actor. Famous for his cumbias, Tovar infused traditional Mexican and Latin music with modern instruments like the electric guitar and synthesizer and popular styles such as rock and soul music. Tovar was born and raised in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. After moving to the neighborhood of East End in Houston, Texas, his musical career began to take off in the early 1970s. José Alfredo Jiménez Sandoval (; 19 January 1926 – 23 November 1973) was a Mexican singer-songwriter of rancheras, whose songs are considered the basis of modern Mexican music. Biography Jiménez was born in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico. He was discovered in 1948 by the singer Miguel Aceves Mejía and according to him he did not play an instrument and did not even know the Spanish word for "waltz" or what keys his songs were in. The Latin Grammy Award for Best Regional Mexican Song is an honor presented annually at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and creates a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. The award is reserved to the songwriters of a new song containing at least 51% of the lyrics in Spanish. Instrumental recordings or cover songs are not eligible. Banda is a genre of Regional Mexican music and type of ensemble in which wind (mostly brass) and percussion instruments are performed.
