No One Is To Blame
"No One Is to Blame" is a song by British musician Howard Jones. The song, in its original version, can be found on his second studio album, ''Dream into Action'', which was released in 1985. Following the success of the previous singles taken from the album, the original track for "No One Is to Blame" was re-recorded to give the song a more radio-friendly sound. Phil Collins and Hugh Padgham produced the re-recording, with Collins adding his own drum work and mood. This new version of the song was included on the 1986 US EP ''Action Replay'' as well as the CD version of Jones' 1986 studio album, '' One to One''. "No One Is to Blame" was released as a single in March 1986 and became Jones' biggest hit in the United States, peaking at #4 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. John Howard Jones (born 23 February 1955) is a British musician, singer and songwriter. He had ten top 40 hit singles in the UK between 1983 and 1986; six of those 10 singles reached the top ten, including " What Is Love?", " New Song", and " Things Can Only Get Better". His 1984 album ''Human's Lib'' reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. Around the world, Jones had 15 top 40 hit singles between 1983 and 1992. "Everlasting Love" is a song by English singer and songwriter Howard Jones from his fourth studio album, ''Cross That Line'' (1989). Written by Jones, it was released as the album's first single on 20 February 1989. The song reached No. 12 in the United States on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart in the early summer of that year, and also peaked at No. 19 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart, the first of only two singles to appear there. It also spent two weeks at No. 1 on the US Adult Contemporary chart, the singer's second chart-topper on this tally (following "No One Is to Blame" from 1986). ''The Old Grey Whistle Test'' (sometimes abbreviated to ''Whistle Test'' or ''OGWT'') is a British television music show. The show was devised by BBC producer Rowan Ayers, commissioned by David Attenborough and aired on BBC2 from 1971 to 1988. It took over the BBC2 late-night slot from '' Disco 2'', which ran between September 1970 and July 1971, while continuing to feature non-chart music. Afrodiziak was a British singing group composed of Caron Wheeler, Claudia Fontaine, and later Naomi Thompson, that was active in the 1980s. As a duo, Wheeler and Fontaine were best known for performing backing vocals on the Jam's final single "Beat Surrender" in 1982 (on whose final tour they performed) and Elvis Costello's 1983 album '' Punch the Clock'', especially its lead single, the international hit "Everyday I Write the Book".
