''No Oblivion'' is the second studio album by Rock music, rock band No Devotion. It was released on 16 September 2022 through Equal Vision Records, Velocity Records. It is the first album from the band to not feature previous members Luke Johnson, Jamie Oliver and Mike Lewis, who all departed the band. It is also the first of the band's releases not to be released by Collect Records, which folded after the company severed ties with Martin Shkreli who was revealed to be a silent investor in the label. No Devotion
No Devotion are a Welsh-American rock band formed in Pontypridd and Cardiff in 2014. The group is currently composed of American vocalist Geoff Rickly of the band Thursday, along with Stu Richardson and Lee Gaze, former members of the Welsh band Lostprophets. The band's debut album '' Permanence'', produced by Dave Fridmann, was released in 2015 and was supported by four singles: "Stay", " 10,000 Summers", "Addition", and "Permanent Sunlight". Drummer Luke Johnson's departure was announced in early 2015, with former Bloc Party drummer Matt Tong recording the rest of the drums for the album. While the band was mostly inactive beginning in 2016, a second album, ''No Oblivion'', was announced in 2022 after being discussed for years. Equal Vision Records
Equal Vision Records is an independent record label based in Albany, New York. It was founded in the early 1990s by Ray Cappo, singer for the punk bands Youth of Today, Shelter, and Better Than a Thousand. The label originally existed solely to distribute Shelter and other Krishna releases. In 1992, label manager Steve Reddy bought Equal Vision from Cappo. The focus was expanded and a wider variety of bands were brought on board. According to ''Punk News'', the mid-to-late '90s saw a redoubling of the Equal Vision's hardcore efforts with such signings as One King Down and Ten Yard Fight. By the end of the '90s Equal Vision Records (EVR) had a stable of hardcore and punk bands, having added Bane, Trial, Converge and Saves the Day to its roster in the latter part of the decade. Permanence (album)
''Permanence'' is the debut studio album by rock band No Devotion. It was released on 25 September 2015 through Collect Records. It was reissued on 6 June 2022 through Velocity Records after the collapse of Collect Records. Background Following Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins' incarceration for child sex offences, No Devotion was formed. Bassist Stuart Richardson explained that they were unsure "if we would ever make music again or if people would look us in the face. Everything felt like it was over." In April 2014 it was announced that Thursday frontman Geoff Rickly would be working with No Devotion through his own label, Collect Records. Rickley regarded their new material as being influenced by Joy Division, New Order, and The Cure, although he did not speculate whether or not he was going to be joining the band. Martin Shkreli (; born March 17, 1983) is an American former hedge fund manager. Shkreli is the co-founder of the hedge funds Elea Capital, MSMB Capital Management, and MSMB Healthcare; the co-founder and former chief executive officer (CEO) of the pharmaceutical firms Retrophin and Turing Pharmaceuticals (now Vyera Pharmaceuticals); and the former CEO of start-up software company Gödel Systems, which he founded in August 2016. Geoffrey William Rickly (born March 8, 1979) is an American musician, best known as the lead singer and songwriter of rock band Thursday. Rickly is also a member of hardcore punk band United Nations, and the alternative rock group No Devotion with former members of Lostprophets, and is the founder of the record label Collect Records. Personal life Rickly was born in Providence, Rhode Island and raised in Dumont, New Jersey, into a Catholic family, and attended Dumont High School, where he was a member of the band and played the tenor sax. He was raised Catholic, Rickly is a diagnosed epileptic, which has affected his ability to tour. In early 2013, Rickly was mugged in New York City, where his cell phone, iPad, wallet, credit card, rent money, and medication were stolen. Lee Gaze
Lee James Gaze (born 21 May 1975 in Pontypridd, Wales) is a Welsh musician. He is the lead guitarist, and also one of the founding members, of the Welsh/American alternative rock band No Devotion and previously a member of the Welsh rock band Lostprophets. Early life Gaze was born in Pontypridd and grew up on a council estate in the Pontypridd village Rhydyfelin. He did not do well at school as he was more interested in playing thrash metal: as he told ''Kerrang!'' in 2006, "Before I discovered music, I was a total delinquent, and then Iron Maiden changed my life. Stuart Richardson
Stuart Richardson (born 15 August 1973) is a Welsh musician. He is the bassist for the rock band No Devotion, formed by former members of Lostprophets and Geoff Rickly of Thursday. He is also the touring bassist for Thursday. Career Richardson is an only child. His mother worked in a butchers shop, bar and doctors office, and his dad was a miner. Richardson has said that one of his earliest musical obsessions was David Bowie. He was inspired to learn to play bass by Steve Harris of Iron Maiden. Richardson's career in the music industry started off in the mid 1990s, working as a producer in his local area in Wales. By the late 1990s he was working as an engineer at Front Line Studios in Caerphilly, which is where he first met the other members of Lostprophets.
