Boyd Tyrone Herndon (born May 2, 1962), known professionally as Ty Herndon, is an American country music singer and songwriter. His music career began in the 1980s as a member of the Tennessee River Boys, a predecessor to the country band Diamond Rio. Herndon quit the band early on and gained his first national exposure as a competitor on ''Star Search''. He then played at various honky-tonks in Texas. After signing to Epic Records in 1993, Herndon made his debut in 1995 with his number one single, "What Mattered Most (song), What Mattered Most". This was followed that same year by the release of his first album, also titled ''What Mattered Most''. Herndon released three more studio albums and a compilation for Epic: ''Living in a Moment'' (1996), ''Big Hopes'' (1998), ''Steam (Ty Herndon album), Steam'' (1999), and ''This Is Ty Herndon: Greatest Hits'' (2002). It features the singles "Steam", "No Mercy", and "A Love Like That", all of which entered the '' Billboard'' country music charts; "You Can Leave Your Hat On" also entered the charts from unsolicited airplay. He composed " Good Morning Beautiful", a 2002 five-week country number one (Billboard) hit for Steve Holy (co-written with Zack Lyle); "The Blues Is My Business" (co-written with Kevin Bowe), part of Etta James' 2003 Grammy Award-winning album "Let's Roll"; and "I'll Still Be Loving You", a 1987 country number one (Billboard) hit for Restless Heart (co-written with Pam Rose, Mary Ann Kennedy, and Pat Bunch). Dennis Morgan (born July 30, 1952 in Tracy, Minnesota) is an American songwriter and music publisher, best known for writing songs for Aretha Franklin, Faith Hill, Barbara Mandrell, and Eric Clapton. He has also published hit songs by Garth Brooks, All-4-One, Feargal Sharkey, and Trisha Yearwood. Morgan's career as a songwriter started as a session musician in Nashville.
