No Limit Records
No Limit Records is an American record company founded by Master P. The label's albums were distributed by Priority Records, Universal and Koch Records. The label included artists such as Snoop Dogg, Mercedes, Silkk the Shocker, Mystikal, Mia X, Mac, C-Murder, Magic, Romeo Miller, Fiend, Kane & Abel, and Soulja Slim. Anthony Boswell, head of Bout It Bout It Management, served as the vice president of operations as well as head of management for the label. In the late nineties, No Limit Records enjoyed mainstream success with releases such as Master P's "Ghetto D", T.R.U.'s "Tru 2 da Game", and Snoop Dogg's "Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told". No Limit was known for quickly producing lengthy albums consisting of up to twenty tracks, numerous cameo appearances by the label's other artists, cheap packaging of its CDs in cardboard cases, and garish Pen & Pixel-designed album covers. Mia X
Mia Young (born January 9, 1970), better known by her stage name Mia X, is an American rapper and songwriter. She was the first female emcee to get a contract with rapper and entertainment magnate, Master P on his successful record label No Limit Records. She is known for collaborations with several No Limit Records artists, including Master P and Silkk the Shocker on the seminal albums, '' Ice Cream Man'', ''Ghetto D'' and '' Charge It 2 Da Game''. Personal life Young was born in the 7th Ward housing projects in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2006 in a magazine article, her publicist releases a statement of an upcoming cookbook. Before her cookbook she did on online page on instagram #teamwhipdempots. Her cookbook was finally released in 2018. In the 2010s, Mia X was diagnosed with uterine cancer and beat it. It was released on June 24, 1997, on No Limit Records, distributed by Priority Records and EMI, and featured production from Beats By the Pound. The album made it to #21 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA. Steady Mobb'n was an American hip hop duo composed of Crooked Eye and Billy Bathgate, from the Ghost Town section of West Oakland. The duo were formally signed to No Limit Records & Bomb Shelter Entertainment in the late 1990s. Music career In 1995, Steady Mobb'n released a cassette EP titled ''Blood Money''. ''Tru 2 da Game'' is the fourth studio album released by New Orleans hip-hop group, TRU. It was released February 18, 1997 on No Limit Records and was produced by Beats By the Pound . The album found a large amount of success, peaking at #8 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums selling 200,000 copies in its first week. A single from the album entitled "I Always Feel Like..." also found some success, peaking at #71 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, #11 on the Hot Rap Singles and #42 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. ''West Coast Bad Boyz II'' is the third West Coast Bad Boyz compilation released by No Limit Records. It was released on January 28, 1997, and was produced by some of the West Coast's top acts, including Brotha Lynch Hung, C-Bo and JT the Bigga Figga. ''West Coast Bad Boyz'' was a success, peaking at number 8 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 and number 6 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Kane & Abel, formally known as 'Double Vision', is an American hip hop duo formed by twin brothers Daniel and David Garcia that were founded by Master P in late 1995. They were best known for their time with No Limit Records. Skull Duggery (rapper)
Andrew Jordan (September 24, 1971 – June 4, 2022), better known as Skull Duggery, was an American rapper best known for his time spent with Master P's No Limit Records in the late 1990s. Skull Duggery made his first appearance on No Limit's 1995 compilation, '' Down South Hustlers: Bouncin' and Swingin''' on the song entitled "Darkside". About a year later, Master P released a trailer on Silkk the Shocker's first album '' The Shocker'' promoting Duggery's debut album, and setting the album's release date for September 24, 1996, but the release was pushed back to a week later. Skull Duggery released '' Hoodlum Fo' Life'' on October 1, 1996, under the alias Skull Dugrey, but the album failed to sell well, only peaking at #29 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and #8 on the Top Heatseekers. ''The Shocker'' is the debut album of American rapper Silkk the Shocker, who was then known as Silkk. It was released on August 20, 1996, by No Limit Records and Priority Records. It features production by Beats By the Pound and guest appearances from C-Murder and Mia X among others. ''The Shocker'' was only a mild success compared to some his future albums and made it to number 49 on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and #6 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. As with most of No Limit's albums, this featured a lot of guest appearances from members of the record label including his brothers, Master P and C-Murder and group TRU.
