''No Escape'', released in some countries as ''Escape from Absolom'' and ''Absolom 2022'', is a 1994 American science fiction action film directed by Martin Campbell. It stars Ray Liotta, Lance Henriksen, Stuart Wilson, Kevin Dillon, Michael Lerner and Ernie Hudson. It was based on the 1987 novel ''The Penal Colony'' by Richard Herley. In a dystopian future, a former Reconnaissance Marine serves life imprisonment on an island inhabited by savage and cannibalistic prisoners. Martin Campbell (born 24 October 1943) is a New Zealand film and television director based in the United Kingdom. He is known for having directed ''The Mask of Zorro'' as well as the James Bond in film, James Bond films ''GoldenEye'' and ''Casino Royale (2006 film), Casino Royale''. He won a British Academy Television Award, BAFTA for his direction of the film adaptation of ''Edge of Darkness (2010 film), Edge of Darkness''.
