No. 3 Security Forces Squadron RAAF
No. 3 Security Forces Squadron (3SECFORSQN) was an RAAF Security Forces unit, whose mission was to provide security in support of air and space power assets and infrastructure. History Originally designated No. 3 Airfield Defence Squadron (3AFDS), the squadron was disbanded in the mid-2000s and its resources dispersed between No 1AFDS (RAAF Edinburgh) and No 2AFDS (RAAF Amberley). On 4 July 2013, the RAAF's security capability was reorganised. Subsequently, No. 3 Security Forces Squadron was formed, with its headquarters based at RAAF Base Edinburgh. Disbandment On October 11th 2022, 3SECFOR was disbanded as part of the RAAF's Air Force Security Transformation program. During 2022, 1SECFOR and 2SECFOR were restructured with more specific responsibilities. Combat Support Group RAAF
Combat Support Group is part of the Royal Australian Air Force. Combat support Group (CSG) was formed in 1998 to provide the Air Force with a Force Element Group (FEG) capable of providing and coordinating the military airbase capabilities needed for the generation, operation and sustainment of Australian airpower. Formerly named Operational Support Group, CSG's name today reflects its focus on military combat capabilities. RAAF Base Edinburgh
RAAF Base Edinburgh is a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) military airbase located in Edinburgh approximately north of Adelaide, South Australia, Australia and forms part of the Edinburgh Defence Precinct. The base is primarily home to No 92 Wing and their Lockheed AP-3C Orion and Boeing P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft that conduct surveillance operations throughout Australia's region of interest. The base is also the home of the Air Warfare Centre which is responsible through its Air Force Ranges Directorate for the Woomera Test Range. The base has over the past decade become home to elements of the 1st Brigade of the Australian Army. Airfield Defence Guards (ADG) are a mustering of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) that are dedicated to the security and ground defence of airbases and other military aviation assets.
