The Nittany Lion Wrestling Club (NLWC) is an amateur wrestling club and nonprofit organization. It was designated by USA Wrestling as a U.S. Olympic Regional Training Center and it hosts its practices at the Penn State wrestling room. Amateur Wrestling
Amateur wrestling is a variant of wrestling practiced in collegiate, school, or other amateur level competitions. There are two international wrestling styles performed in the Olympic Games: freestyle and Greco-Roman. Both styles are under the supervision of the United World Wrestling (UWW; formerly known as FILA, from the French acronym for International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles). A similar style, commonly called collegiate (also known as scholastic or folkstyle), is practiced in colleges and universities, secondary schools, middle schools, and among younger age groups in the United States. Reece Weslee Humphrey (born July 31, 1986, in Bloomington, Indiana) is retired American freestyle wrestler who competed for the men's freestyle 60 kg at the World Wrestling Championships 2013 in Budapest, Hungary. Gabriel Curtis Dean (born June 19, 1994) is an American retired freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestler and graduated folkstyle wrestler who formerly competed at 86 kilograms. In freestyle, he was the 2020 US National Champion, a '17 Pan American Championship medalist and a '14 Junior World Championship medalist. Aaron Brooks (born June 15, 2000) is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes internationally at 86 kilograms and collegiately at 184 pounds. In freestyle, he is a Cadet World Champion and Junior World Championship silver medalist. Beau Reynald Bartlett (born February 26, 2001) is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes internationally at 65 kilograms and collegiately at 141 pounds. Domenic Michael Abounader (born March 11, 1995) is an American-born freestyle wrestler. Domestically, Abounader competed at St. Edward High School, where he won three state titles, finishing his senior season undefeated and the number one ranked wrestler in the country at 182lbs. Abounader attended The University of Michigan where he was a Big Ten Champion and All-American. Internationally, he competes for Lebanon, his father's home country.
