Nishi-Gifu Station
is a railway station operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) and is located in the western part of the city of Gifu, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Lines Nishi-Gifu Station is served by the JR Tōkai Tōkaidō Main Line, and is located 399.5 kilometers from the official starting point of the line at . Along with Gifu Station and Nagamori Station, it is one of the three JR Central stations in the city of Gifu. An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. Gifu Bus
is a public transportation company based in Gifu, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. It is a subsidiary of Nagoya Railroad and primarily operates within Gifu Prefecture. Some of its public transportation routes within the city of Gifu were handed over by Meitetsu Bus on October 1, 2004. On April 1, 2005, it also received the public bus routes run by the city. At the same time, it also replaced bus lines in nearby cities and began operating the Gifu Community Bus.
