Niranjan Bhagat
Niranjan Narhari Bhagat (18 May 1926 – 1 February 2018) was an Indian Gujarati language poet and commentator who won the 1999 Sahitya Akademi Award for Gujarati language for his critical work ''Gujarati Sahiyta – Purvardha Uttarardha''. He was also an English poet, and had written over a hundred poems in English, most being written in the style of ''Gitanjali''. Early life Niranjan Narhari Bhagat was born on 18 May 1926 in Ahmedabad. He completed M.A. in English Literature in 1950. Career Bhagat joined L. D. Arts College as a lecturer. Later he joined Saint Xavier's College, Ahmedabad, as a professor of English in 1975 and served there until his retirement. He served as the president of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad in 1997–98. He also served as a member of Advisory Board for Gujarati, Sahitya Akademi, Delhi, from 1963 to 1967. Ranjitram Suvarna Chandrak
Ranjitram Suvarna Chandrak, also known as the Ranjitram Gold Medal, was founded by Gujarat Sahitya Sabha and is considered the highest literary award in Gujarati literature. The award is named after renowned Gujarati writer Ranjitram Mehta. It is awarded since 1928. Vinesh Antani is Gujarati novelist, short story writer and essayist from Gujarat, India. Life Vinesh Dinkarrai Antani was born on 27 June 1946 at Navavas near Mandvi (in Kutch district, Gujarat) India. His father was primary school teacher and his mother was interested in literature. He completed his secondary school from Nakhatrana and SSC in 1962. He completed Bachelor of Arts in Gujarati-Hindi from Bhuj in 1967 and Master of Arts in Gujarati-Sanskrit in 1969. He taught Gujarati at Commerce College of Bhuj for five years. In 1975, he joined Akashvani as a Programme Director and voluntarily retired as Station Director. Later he edited Gujarati edition of ''India Today'' magazine. Jayant Kothari
Jayant Sukhlal Kothari was a Gujarati literary critic from India. Life Jayant Kothari was born on 28 January 1930 at Rajkot. He completed his primary and secondary education in Rajkot. He matriculated in 1948. He completed BA in Gujarati and Sanskrit from Dharamsinhji College in 1957 and MA in 1959. He obtained Diploma in Linguistics from Gujarat University in 1977. He ran cutlery shop in Rajkot from 1949 to 1954 and also served as Railway Claims agent. He taught at Prakash Arts College, Ahmedabad from 1959 to 1962. He taught Gujarati at various colleges of Gujarat Law Society from 1962 to his retirement. He co-edited the first volume of ''Gujarati Sahitya Kosh'' (Encyclopedia of Gujarati Literature; (1989), prepared by Gujarati Sahitya Parishad, with Jayant Gadit.
