Niraj Chag
Niraj Chag is a London-based musical artist and composer. His musical style mixes Indian classical influences with contemporary stylings and layered, complex beats. Niraj's tracks were initially released on the Outcaste record label and later on his own Buzz-erk label. He has written and produced three albums released under his own name: ''Along the Dusty Road'' (2006), ''The Lost Souls'' (2009) and ''Mud Doll'' (2015). Biography Born in Southampton, England, Niraj's first professional experience in music was working on Mark Hill's label. Moving to Outcaste Records in London, Niraj released the single "Walk Alone" and contributed four tracks to the album ''Outcaste New Breed''. Outcaste Records
Untouchability is a form of social institution that legitimises and enforces practices that are discriminatory, humiliating, exclusionary and exploitative against people belonging to certain social groups. Although comparable forms of discrimination are found all over the world, untouchability involving the caste system is largely unique to South Asia. The term is most commonly associated with treatment of the Dalit communities in the Indian subcontinent who were considered "polluting". CBSO Centre
The CBSO Centre is the administrative home and rehearsal centre of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Choruses (City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus, City of Birmingham Symphony Youth Chorus and City of Birmingham Young Voices), and Birmingham Contemporary Music Group on the corner of Berkley Street and Holliday Street, in Birmingham, England. RIFCO Arts
Rifco Arts is a theatre company which focuses on bringing British Asian stories to the stage, and audiences from the community into theatres. The company was founded in 1999 by director Pravesh Kumar. Rifco is an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation. In June 2014 Rifco were further awarded funding by the Arts Council for Creative People and Places project in Slough. Well-known actors who have worked with Rifco include Shabana Azmi, Goldy Notay, Ameet Chana, Shivani Ghai, Rik Makarem, Harvey Virdi, Simon Rivers and Divian Ladwa. West Yorkshire Playhouse
Leeds Playhouse is a theatre in the city centre of Leeds, West Yorkshire. Having originally opened in 1970 in a different location in Leeds, it reopened as West Yorkshire Playhouse, on Quarry Hill, in March 1990. After a refurbishment in 2018-2019, it reverted to its original name; Leeds Playhouse. The theatre has three stages of varying sizes to host and create a wide range of high-quality productions, workshops and events.
