Ninja-Kid
is the first video game in the ''Ninja-kun'' series. It was released for arcades, on the Famicom, and MSX by Jaleco in 1984. The MSX version was the only version released outside of Japan, as it was released in Europe under the name "Ninja". Gameplay ''Ninja-kun's Demon Castle Adventure'' features three upward scrolling levels that repeat and become more difficult. The objective is to defeat the enemies on each screen and advance to the next screen. The player can attack with shurikens and jump on enemies' heads to stun them. Occasionally, an orb will appear and if the player collects three, a bonus level will be unlocked. Reception In Japan, ''Game Machine'' listed ''Ninja-Kid'' on their November 15, 1984 issue as being the second most-successful table arcade unit of the month. Ninja JaJaMaru-kun
is an action game, action-Platform game, platform video game developed and published by Jaleco for the Famicom. It was released in Japan on November 15, 1985 and was ported to the MSX in 1986. The MSX version was released in Europe as ''Ninja II'', being marketed as a sequel to ''Ninja-Kid, Ninja-kun: Majou no Bouken'', a game that used the name ''Ninja'' for its European MSX release. The game was a commercial success, selling nearly units. An arcade video game port for the Nintendo VS. System was released in April 1986. A remake, ''Ganso JaJaMaru-kun'', was released in 1999 for the WonderSwan. ''Ninja JaJaMaru-kun'' was released for Nintendo's Japanese Virtual Console on December 26, 2006 and in PAL regions on September 21, 2007 as part of Ninja Week for the Hanabi Festival promotion. Arcade Archives
is a series of emulated arcade games from the late 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Nintendo Switch, published by Hamster Corporation. A sub-series called is focused on rereleasing Neo Geo titles in their original arcade format, unlike many services with attempts to emulate the console versions. ''Arcade Archives'' was first released for the PlayStation 4 in May 2014. It also supports various system specific features, in which players can share screenshots and videos, and compete with others scores for online ranking. Jaleco
was a corporate brand name that was used by two previously connected video game developers and publishers based in Japan. The original Jaleco company was founded in 1974 as Japan Leisure Company, founded by Yoshiaki Kanazawa, before being renamed to simply Jaleco in the early 1980s. This company was later acquired in 2000 by PCCW, who rebranded it as their Japanese game division, PCCW Japan, before reverting it to Jaleco in 2002. In 2006, Jaleco became independent from PCCW and renamed to Jaleco Holding, having their video game operations spun off into a new company, also called Jaleco. This new spin-off company was sold to mobile developer Game Yarou in 2009, with Jaleco Holding renaming itself to Encom Holdings shortly after. While independent, it has been closely tied with Nintendo throughout its history, and is often referred to as a second-party developer for the company.
