Ninh Hòa Base
Ninh Hòa Base is a former Republic of Korea Army base north of Nha Trang in Khánh Hòa Province, Vietnam. History The base was originally established in September 1966 by the 9th Infantry Division (Republic of Korea), 9th Infantry Division along National Route 1 (Vietnam), Highway 1 approximately north of Nha Trang. The base remained in use by the 9th Division until their departure from Vietnam in March 1973. Other units stationed at Ninh Hòa at various times included: :*48th Assault Helicopter Company, Blue Star C. Co. 227th Assault Helicopter Bn. 1st Aviation Brigade was also stationed there. Current use The base is abandoned and has been turned over to housing and farmland. Nha Trang
Nha Trang ( or ; ) is a coastal city and capital of Khánh Hòa Province, on the South Central Coast of Vietnam. It is bounded on the north by Ninh Hoà town, on the south by Cam Ranh city and on the west by Diên Khánh District. The city had a population of about 535,000 people in 2023. An area of of the western communes of Diên An and Diên Toàn is planned to be merged into Nha Trang which will make its new area based on the approval of the Prime Minister of Vietnam in September 2012. The 9th Infantry Division (, Hanja: 第九步兵師團), also known as White Horse Division (; hanja:白馬師團) after the victory of Battle of White Horse Hill, is an infantry division of the Republic of Korea Army. The unit is composed of the 28th, 29th, 30th infantry brigades, and an artillery brigade.
