Nine-Twelve District
The Nine-Twelve District is a major area of downtown Cleveland, in the U.S. state of Ohio, that is the re-branding of the former Financial District of Cleveland. This re-branding has largely been championed by the Downtown Cleveland Alliance. The name refers to the two major commercial avenues between which the district lies, East 9th Street and East 12th Street, with Lakeside Avenue and Euclid Avenue serving as the northern and southern boundaries, respectively. This revamping and reboot of the Cleveland Central Business District has occurred because property and business owners demanded more investment in the central area. The district is home to the newly expanded Cuyahoga County Headquarters. Part of this re-branding of the area has been Walnut Wednesdays and the success of this has attracted over 1,000 people to the side street in the Nine-Twelve with its assortment of food trucks and office-worker lunch-break social events. Downtown Cleveland
Downtown Cleveland is the central business district of Cleveland, Ohio. The economic and symbolic center of the city and the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Combined Statistical Area, it is Cleveland's oldest district, with its Public Square laid out by city founder General Moses Cleaveland in 1796. PNC Center (formerly National City Center) is a skyscraper located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio at the northwest corner of Euclid Avenue and East 9th Street. Ohio Savings Plaza
The Ohio Savings Plaza is a commercial high-rise building in Cleveland, Ohio. The building rises 253 feet (77 m) in Downtown Cleveland. It contains 17 floors, and was completed in 1969. The Ohio Savings Plaza currently stands as the 33rd-tallest building in the city, tied in rank with the Penton Media Building and Ameritech Center. North Point Tower
The North Point Office Building and Tower (also known as North Point I and II) is a complex consisting of a skyscraper and an office building. It is located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio at the northeast corner of East 9th Street and Lakeside Avenue. It is the home of Cleveland founded law firm, Jones Day. Proposal North Point Tower was proposed by ''Cleveland Press'' owner Joseph Cole in 1979. In March 1980, The North Point Plan was revealed as a , 41-story office tower with a glass-enclosed atrium. There were plans to build a hotel on the site and an atrium displaying ''Press'' printing machines to the public. The tower would have been built on top of the 1957 structure. Cleveland Athletic Club
The Cleveland Athletic Club (CAC) was a historic organization founded in 1908. Founding members included Mayor Charles A. Otis, Walter Baker, and Elbert Baker; banker William Parmalee Murray was its first president. In 1911 the organization commissioned a 15-story social club building at 1118 Euclid Avenue, a structure with facilities for its boxing tournaments, office space, a 12-room hotel, a dining room, an eight-lane bowling alley, a basketball court, and many other amenities. Olympic and Hollywood swimmer Johnny Weissmueller broke the record for the 15-yard backstroke in the club's penthouse pool in 1922. The architect was J. AmTrust Financial Building, formerly known as McDonald Investment Center, Key Center and the Central National Bank Building, is a commercial high-rise building in Cleveland, Ohio. Ameritech Center or AT&T Ohio is a commercial high-rise building in Cleveland, Ohio. The building rises in Downtown Cleveland as a part of the Erieview Plaza complex. It contains 16 floors, and was completed in 1983. AT&T Center currently stands as the 31st-tallest building in the city, tied in rank with the Penton Media Building and the Ohio Savings Plaza.
