Nina Söderquist
Nina Söderquist (born 6 May 1972) is a Swedish musical singer. Career Nina started her career on Wallmans salonger and as a chorus singer girl behind many of Sweden's most popular singers. On 2 February 2008 Söderquist won the Swedish talent show West End Star on TV3. She won the prize of getting the leading role as "Lady of the Lake" in the London West End production of the musical ''Spamalot''. In July of that year Söderquist was back in Sweden leaving the London stage for a while, she performed a song at the popular Swedish television show Allsång på Skansen. She was approached by the BBC to compete in the UK Eurovision selection event; she declined the offer. In February 2009, Nina participated in Melodifestivalen 2009, the Swedish pre-selection show for ''Eurovision'', in the hope of representing Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia. ''Nine'' is a 2009 romantic musical drama film directed and produced by Rob Marshall and written by Michael Tolkin and Anthony Minghella. The film is an adaptation of the 1982 musical of the same name, which in turn is based on Federico Fellini's semi-autobiographical 1963 film ''8½''. The Eurovision Song Contest 2009 was the 54th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Moscow, Russia, following the country's victory at the with the song "Believe (Dima Bilan song), Believe" by Dima Bilan. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Channel One Russia, Channel One (C1R), the contest was held at the Olympic Stadium (Moscow), Olimpiysky Arena, and consisted of two semi-finals on 12 and 14 May, and a final on 16 May 2009. Melodifestivalen 2009 was a Sweden, Swedish song contest held between February and March 2009. It was the selection for the 49th song to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest, and was the 48th edition of Melodifestivalen. Five heats were held in the Swedish cities of Gothenburg, Skellefteå, Leksand and Malmö, with Norrköping hosting the final ''Andra Chansen'' round. After the five heats 11 songs had qualified to the final of the contest, contested in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, at the Ericsson Globe, Globe Arena. After the voting of 12 juries and a public televote had been revealed, the final winner was opera singer Malena Ernman with pop/opera song "La Voix (song), La Voix", which received top marks from the public televote, despite only placing eighth after the votes of the 12 juries.
