Nina Fyodorova
Nina Viktorovna Baldycheva (russian: Нина Викторовна Балдычёва; also known as Baldychova, Fedorova, Baldycheva-Fedorova or Fyodorova; 18 July 1947 – 27 January 2019) was a Russian cross-country skier who competed from 1970 to 1980. She won three medals at the Winter Olympics with a gold in the 4 × 5 km relay (1976), a silver in the 4 × 5 km relay (1980), and a bronze in the 5 km (1976). In the relay in 1976, she injured her left hand in a fall at the start, but completed the race. At the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships Fyodorova earned two gold (3 × 5 km relay: 1970, 4×5 km: 1974) and one bronze medals (5 km: 1970). Domestically she won one individual Soviet title, over 5 km in 1971, and eight relay titles (1969–73, 1975–76, 1979). The Order of the Badge of Honour (russian: орден «Знак Почёта», orden "Znak Pochyota") was a civilian award of the Soviet Union. It was established on 25 November 1935, and was conferred on citizens of the USSR for outstanding achievements in production, scientific research and social, cultural and other forms of social activity; for promotion of economic, scientific, technological, cultural and other ties between the USSR and other countries; and also for significant contribution to basic and applied research. The order was awarded 1,574,368 times. The "Order of the Badge of Honour" was replaced by the "Order of Honour" (russian: Орден Почёта) by a Decree of the Presidium of the USSR on 28 December 1988. FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1974
The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1974 took place 16–24 February 1974 in Falun, Sweden. This was the second time this city hosted the event having done so in 1954. The women's 3 × 5 km relay changed to a 4 × 5 km relay at these championships. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1970 took place 14–22 February 1970 in Vysoké Tatry, Czechoslovakia (present-day Slovakia). This was the second time this city hosted the event having done so in 1935. It was the first time an event was televised in colour from Czechoslovakia though broadcasting there remained in black and white.
