Nin Alexander
William Henry "Nin" Alexander (November 4, 1858 – December 22, 1933) was an American major league baseball catcher, center fielder and shortstop. Biography Alexander was born in Pana, Illinois. He played his first professional game on June 7, 1884, with the Kansas City Unions. He played professionally for the Kansas City Unions and the St. Louis Browns (NL), St. Louis Browns. He played his last professional game on September 3, 1884. He died on December 22, 1933. Catcher is a Baseball positions, position in baseball and softball. When a Batter (baseball), batter takes their at bat, turn to hit, the catcher crouches behind home plate, in front of the (home plate, home) Umpire (baseball), umpire, and receives the ball from the pitcher. Shortstop, abbreviated SS, is the baseball or softball fielding position between second and third base, which is considered to be among the most demanding defensive positions. Historically the position was assigned to defensive specialists who were typically poor at batting and were often placed at the bottom of the batting order. Today, shortstops are often able to hit well and many are placed at the top of the lineup. In the numbering system used by scorers to record defensive plays, the shortstop is assigned the number 6. Kansas City Unions
The Kansas City Cowboys (also Unions and Kaycees) were a baseball team in the Union Association during its only season, . Referred to as the "Cowboys" mostly by historians, they had no official nickname during their short life and were most frequently referred to by local press of the day as the "Unions" and by the press of other cities as the "Kaycees". They were the first professional baseball team to represent Kansas City, Missouri, Kansas City as well as the city's first major league team. A center fielder, abbreviated CF, is the outfielder in baseball who plays defense in center field – the baseball and softball fielding position between left field and right field. Pana is a small town in Christian County, Illinois, United States. A small portion is in Shelby County. The population was 5,199 at the 2020 census. History The area around Pana was first organized as Stone Coal Precinct in 1845.
