Nimai Bhattacharya
Nimai Bhattacharya (10 April 1931 – 25 June 2020) was a writer of Bengali literature who was born in Magura's Shalikha. He died on 25 June 2020 in Kolkata, aged 89. Early life Bhattacharya's mother died when he was three years old. He matriculated in 1948. He moved to West Bengal from East Bengal. Then he had passed IA and BA from Ripon College, Calcutta Surendranath College is an undergraduate college affiliated to the University of Calcutta, in Kolkata, India. It was founded in 1884 by the nationalist leader and scholar Surendranath Banerjee. The Women's section of the college was founded .... He started his career in journalism. A novel which was written by him was published in ''Amritobazar'' in 1963. His next four novels were published in the newspaper. After that, he became professional author. Shalikha ( bn, শালিখা) is an upazila of Magura District in the Division of Khulna, Bangladesh. Geography Shalikha is located at . It has 22209 households and total area 228.64 km2. Surendranath College is an undergraduate college affiliated to the University of Calcutta, in Kolkata, India. It was founded in 1884 by the nationalist leader and scholar Surendranath Banerjee. The Women's section of the college was founded in 1931 by Mira Datta Gupta, its first Principal (university), Principal. For much of its history it was known as ''Ripon College'', named for the United Kingdom, British Viceroy Lord Ripon, but in 1948–1949, it was renamed for its founder. Aparna Sen (, ''Ôporna Shen'') is an Indian film director, screenwriter and actress who is known for her work in Bengali cinema. She has received several accolades as an actress and filmmaker, including nine National Film Awards, five Filmfare Awards and thirteen Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards. For her contribution in the field of arts, the Government of India honoured her with Padma Shri, the country's fourth highest civilian award. Bengali literature ( bn, বাংলা সাহিত্য, Bangla Sahityô) denotes the body of writings in the Bengali language and which covers Old Bengali, Middle- Bengali and Modern Bengali with the changes through the passage of time and dynastic patronization or non-patronization.
