Nils Vogt (journalist)
Nils Vogt (27 October 1859 – 27 June 1927) was a Norwegian journalist and newspaper editor. Born into a family of politicians and civil servants, he became the first chairman of the Norwegian Press Association and the Conservative Press Association. Vogt worked at the conservative newspaper ''Morgenbladet'' for 45 years, acting as editor-in-chief from 1894 to 1913. He wrote numerous articles during his lifetime, advocating independence from Sweden and the Riksmål standard of written Norwegian. Early life and education Nils Vogt was born in Bergen as the son of politician Niels Petersen Vogt (1817–94) and his wife Karen Magdalena ("Kaja") Ancher Arntzen (1819–70). Amongst Nils Vogt's forebears were many politicians and government officials. Niels Petersen Vogt
Niels Petersen Vogt (15 April 1817–8 November 1894) was a Norwegian civil servant and politician. He served as the Norwegian Minister of the Interior five times between 1871 and 1884, and member of the Council of State Division in Stockholm four times 1872–1883. He also served as County Governor in three different counties. Career He graduated with a Cand.jur. degree in 1839 and was immediately employed by the Ministry of Justice. He became bureau chief in 1843 and was promoted in 1847. From 1841 to 1842 he was also the acting mayor in Stavanger. Vogt was appointed as the County Governor of Søndre Bergenhus amt from 1850 until 1860. During that time, he was elected to the Storting from Bergen in 1857. In 1860, he was appointed to be the County Governor of Christianssand stiftamt and the County Governor of Lister og Mandals amt. Nils Henning Vogt (born ) is a Norwegian actor who is best known for some of his comedy roles, particularly as the temperamental small business owner Karl Reverud in the sit-coms ''Mot i brøstet'' (which he also directed) from 1993 to 1997, ''Karl & Co'' from 1998 to 2001 and '' Karl III'' in 2009. Nils Vogt (1926–2000) was a Norwegian civil servant and diplomat. He was born in Hakadal, and is a cand.jur. by education. During World War II, while still in secondary school, he was imprisoned in Grini concentration camp between 10 June and 20 September 1943. He worked at the Norwegian embassy in the United States from 1957 to 1961, for Norges Eksportråd from 1961 to 1965, at the Norwegian embassy in Belgium from 1965 to 1966 and as vice president of Federation of Norwegian Industries from 1966 to 1972. In 1972 he was assistant secretary in the Norwegian Ministry of Industry, from 1973 to 1975 he worked in the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate and from 1975 to 1980 he worked with petroleum at the Norwegian embassy in Iran. Nils Collett Vogt
Nils Collett Vogt (24 September 1864 – 23 December 1937) was a Norwegian poet. He was born in Christiania (now Oslo) as the son of tramway director Jens Theodor Paludan Vogt (1830–1892) and writer Johanne Collett (1833–1906). He was great-nephew of Jonas Collett and second cousin of Johan Vogt (1858–1932), Nils Vogt (1859–1927), Paul Benjamin Vogt (1863–1947) and Ragnar Vogt (1870–1943). His family first lived at St. Hanshaugen, Vestre Aker, before they in 1877 moved into a newly constructed villa in Josefines gate, Homansbyen. According to his biographer in ''Norsk biografisk leksikon'', Hans H. Skei, he grew up in a conservative upper-class environment, but opposed "authorities and conservative attitudes". At a young age he joined the Liberal Party and penned radical articles to newspapers at the age of seventeen.
