Nikolai Zuyev (badminton)
Nikolay Vladimirovich Zuyev (russian: Николай Владимирович Зуев; born 7 May 1970) is a Russian badminton player. He was part of the Russian Army team, and joined the national team in 1987. Zuyev competed in badminton at the 1996 Summer Olympics in the men's doubles with partner Andrey Antropov. They were defeated by Antonius Ariantho and Denny Kantono of Indonesia (5-15, 1-15) in the quarter-finals, also in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the mixed doubles with partner Marina Yakusheva. Gelora Bung Karno Sports Palace ( id, Istana Olahraga Gelora Bung Karno, abbreviated as ''Istora''), the formerly name ''Istora Senayan'' is an indoor sporting arena located in Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, Jakarta, Indonesia. The capacity of the arena after 2018 reopening is 7,166. This arena is usually used for badminton tournaments. Its maiden event was the 1961 Thomas Cup. Thomas Haubro Lund (born 2 August 1968) is a retired badminton player from Denmark who affiliate with Kastrup Magleby club. Career Lund was one of the world's leading doubles specialists of the 1990s, particularly in mixed doubles. He was a silver medalist in both men's and mixed doubles at the 1991 IBF World Championships. In 1993 and 1995 he won consecutive gold medals in mixed doubles at the IBF World Championships, the first with Sweden's Catrine Bengtsson and the second with his compatriot Marlene Thomsen. From 1990 through 1994 Lund won five consecutive mixed doubles titles with three different partners at the now defunct World Badminton Grand Prix. Jon Holst-Christensen (born 16 June 1968) is a retired male badminton player from Denmark. Christopher John Hunt (born 1 December 1968) is a retired badminton player from England. Who has won many commonwealth titles. Personal life Chris Hunt was born on 1 December 1968 in Bolton, England. Simon David Archer MBE (born 27 June 1973) is an English former badminton player. Archer once held the world record for the fastest smash at 162 mph. Career Summer Olympics Archer competed in badminton at the 1996 Summer Olympics in doubles, with Chris Hunt. They were knocked out in the quarterfinals. In 2000 he coupled with Nathan Robertson, but they too lost in the quarterfinals, this time to Tony Gunawan and Candra Wijaya of Indonesia. However, Archer also competed in mixed doubles with Joanne Goode and won a bronze medal. Commonwealth Games He represented England and won double silver in the mixed doubles and men's doubles event and was a member of the mixed team that won the gold medal, at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Canada.
