Nikolai Velikov
Nikolai Matveyevich Velikov (russian: Николай Матвеевич Великов; born June 6, 1945 in Nerekhta) is a Russian pair skating coach. Velikov competed with his wife Ludmila Sinitsina, placing fifth at the Soviet Championships. Velikov later retired from competitive skating and became the coach of his wife with Anatoly Yevdokimov, a team who won bronze medals at the 1972 USSR Cup and 1973 RSFSR. Velikov and his wife, now known as Ludmila Velikova, are based in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Nerekhta, Kostroma Oblast
Nerekhta (russian: Не́рехта) is a town in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. Population: History The first historical record of the town is in the records of Pereslavl-Suzdal Monastery in 1214. The town does not retain many marks of antiquity, apart from several 17th-century churches. It has been known for its textiles since the 19th century. Etymology The town is named after a river on which it's located. There are several other rivers named Nerekhta in central Russia, and this hydronym is believed to come from a substrate Finno-Ugric language (cf. mhr, нер 'cape, foreland'). The reconstruction ''*(i)ne-(j)еr-еxta'' ('river of a big lake') is viewed by Aleksandr Matveyev as unconvincing, since there are no big lakes within the basins of any rivers named Nerekhta. Sergei Gennadyevich Slavnov (russian: Серге́й Геннадьевич Славнов; born 11 March 1982) is a Russian pair skater. He is best known for his partnership with Julia Obertas, with whom he competed from 2003 to 2007. Together, they are the 2005 European silver medalists. Previously, Slavnov competed with Julia Karbovskaya, with whom he is the 2002 World Junior silver medalist.
