Nikola Žižić
Nikola Žižić (born 23 January 1988) is a Croatian professional footballer who last played as a defender for Greek club AEL. Career Physically strong and good at initiating attacks and finishing them, Žižić started his career in second- and third-tier clubs in Croatia and Slovenia – Solin, Konavljanin and Bela Krajina before getting his chance to play in Prva HNL for the newly promoted Lučko, signing a one-year deal. Establishing himself in the first team, he secured a transfer to the Turkish Süper Lig team Antalyaspor, signing a three-year deal with them. After a short period in Turkey and Fethiyespor he returned to Slovenia and played for NK Krka before signing with Croatian side Istra where he had his most successful seasons with 63 league games. On 7 July 2017, AEL announced the signing of Žižić on a two-year contract. The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), officially known as Spor Toto Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top-flight of the Turkish football league system and is run by the Turkish Football Federation. In the 2022–23 season, nineteen clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promoted from, and relegated to the 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday. The competition was initially established in 1923. The TFF 1. Lig, officially known as Spor Toto 1. Lig for sponsorship reasons, is the second level of the Turkish football league system. The league was founded in 2001 as the ''Turkish Second League Category A'' after the reorganization of the Second Football League, which was the second level of the Turkish league system between 1963 and 2001. The league was called ''Türk Telekom Lig A'' in the 2006–2007 season, and was renamed to ''TFF First League'' prior to the 2007–08 season. As of 16 January 2008 the league was renamed as Bank Asya 1. The 2013–14 Süper Lig (known as the Spor Toto Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons) was the 56th season of the Süper Lig, the highest tier football league of Turkey. The season began on 17 August 2013. Galatasaray were the defending champions, but Fenerbahçe matched their league title record of 19 after drawing 0–0 with Çaykur Rizespor on 27 April. Teams İstanbul BB, Orduspor and Mersin İdman Yurdu were relegated at the end of the 2012–13 season after finishing in the bottom three places of the standings. İstanbul B.B. was at top level for six years, Orduspor and Mersin İY returned to second level after two years. The 2011–12 Croatian First Football League (officially known as the MAXtv Prva Liga for sponsorship reasons) was the 21st season of the Croatian First Football League, the national championship for men's association football teams in Croatia, since its establishment in 1992. The season started on 23 July 2011 and ended on 12 May 2012. Format changes On 5 July 2010 the Croatian Football Federation Executive committee reached a decision to reduce the number of teams competing in Prva HNL to twelve for the 2011–12 season of the competition. The Slovenian Second Football League ( sl, Druga slovenska nogometna liga or commonly 2. SNL) is the second highest Association football, football league in Slovenia. The league was formed in 1991 and is operated by the Football Association of Slovenia.
