Nikola Vukčević (footballer, Born 1991)
Nikola Vukčević ( cnr, Никола Bукчeвић, ; born 13 December 1991), also known as Điđo (Ђиђо), is a Montenegrin professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Qatar Stars League side Al-Ahli. Vukčević began his professional career with Budućnost. He debuted for the Montenegro national team in 2014. Club career Budućnost From 2010 to 2013, Vukčević played for local club Budućnost, where he earned 65 caps and scored four goals. During the 2011–12 season, he emerged as one of the best youngsters in the country, and became Budućnost's captain during their title run. In the following season, Vukčević became the most valuable player in Budućnost squad, starting in 27 out of 33 league matches - the most appearances he made during one season at the time. The 2012–13 Montenegrin Cup was the seventh season of the Montenegrin knockout football tournament. The winner of the tournament received a berth in the first qualifying round of the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League. The Montenegrin Cup ( Montenegrin and Serbian: ''Kup Crne Gore'') is the national football cup played in Montenegro, established in 2006. The winner of the cup is awarded a spot in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League if they have not already gained a spot in the UEFA Champions League. Podgorica City Stadium ( cnr, Stadion pod Goricom) is an all-seater multi-purpose stadium in Podgorica, Montenegro. Although its seating capacity changed over the years due to several renovations, as of 2019 it has 11,050 seats. The stadium is the home ground of the Montenegrin national football team and Budućnost. History Podgorica City Stadium was built in 1945, following World War II. Before the war, Budućnost and other clubs from Podgorica played their matches in a field near that location. The stadium's original capacity was around 5,000 spectators.
