Nikola Rakočević
Nikola Rakočević ( sr-cyr, Никола Ракочевић; born 27 June 1983, Kragujevac, Serbia) is a Serbs, Serbian actor proclaimed as one of Europe’s leading young screen actors,. Rakočević has received numerous awards at major international film festivals. The Berlin Film Festival (2014) placed Nikola among its ten European Shooting Stars. The accolade was just one among many international Best Actor awards to acknowledge the Serbian actor’s talent in feature films such as The Sky Above Us (2015), The Man Who Defended Gavrilo Princip / Branio Sam Mladu Bosnu (2014), Travelator (2013), Circles / Krugovi (2013), and Skinning / Šišanje (2010). International Film Festival Rotterdam
The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is an annual film festival held at the end of January in various locations in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Since its foundation in 1972, it has maintained a focus on independent and experimental filmmaking by showcasing emerging talents and established auteurs. The festival also places a focus on presenting cutting edge media art and arthouse film, with most of the participants in the short film program identified as artists or experimental filmmakers. Shooting Stars Award
The Shooting Stars Awards are presented annually by the pan-European network organization European Film Promotion (EFP) to emerging actors from Europe. "Shooting Stars" is an initiative of the EFP for the international promotion and networking of promising up-and-coming actors from the 37 respective EFP member countries. Since 1998, ten talents selected from all over Europe have been presented each year during the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) to the international press, the general public, and the film industry. The four-day programme culminates with the presentation of the European Shooting Stars Awards. ''Circles'' ( sr, Кругови/Krugovi) is a 2013 Serbian drama film directed by Srdan Golubović. The film was selected as the Serbian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. The film won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival and the Grand Prix, Golden Apricot at the 2013 Yerevan International Film Festival, Armenia, for Best Feature Film as well as the Grand Prix at 2013 CinEast Festival. Plot The film is inspired by the true story of Bosnian Serb soldier Srđan Aleksić who died protecting Bosniak civilian Alen Glavović in January 1993 in Trebinje during the Bosnian War.
