Nikola Nešić
Nikola Nešić ( sr-cyr, Никола Нешић; born 1988) is a Serbian politician. He was elected to the National Assembly of Serbia in 2022 on the electoral list of the We Must (''Moramo'') coalition and is now a member of the Together (''Zajedno!'') party. Early life and private career Nešić was born in Kragujevac, in what was then the Socialist Republic of Serbia in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Raised in the city, he holds a master's degree in electrical engineering and computing from the Department of Telecommunications at the Faculty of Electronics in Niš and has worked at Serbia Broadband. The National Assembly ( sr-cyr, Народна скупштина, Narodna skupština, ) is the unicameral legislature of Serbia. The assembly is composed of 250 deputies who are proportionally elected to four-year terms by secret ballot. The assembly elects a president (speaker) who presides over the sessions. The Social Democratic Party ( sr-cyrl, Социјалдемократска странка, Socijaldemokratska stranka, SDS) is a centre-left political party in Serbia. The party was founded and is headed by Boris Tadić, who was previously president of the Democratic Party and the former President of Serbia. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) is an international organization established in 2005 by the national parliaments of the countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region. It is the legal successor of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in the Mediterranean (CSCM), launched in the early ‘90s. 2022 Serbian Parliamentary Election
General elections were held in Serbia on 3 April 2022 to elect both the president and members of the National Assembly. Initially, parliamentary elections were scheduled to be held in 2024; however, in October 2020 president Aleksandar Vučić stated that snap parliamentary elections would be held in or before April 2022. In addition to the general elections, local elections were held simultaneously in 12 municipalities and 2 cities, including Belgrade. The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) came to power in 2012 after forming a government with the Socialist Party of Serbia. They won a supermajority of seats following the 2020 parliamentary election, which was boycotted by the major opposition Alliance for Serbia that claimed that "the election would not be free and fair".
