Nikki Butterfield-Egyed
Nikki Butterfield (''née'' Egyed, born 12 April 1982) is a professional triathlete and former road cyclist from Australia. She represented her nation at the 2007 and 2008 UCI Road World Championships. Athletic career Butterfield first began competing in triathlon becoming the Australian Junior Triathlon Champion in 2001 and the Under 23 World Triathlon Champion in 2003. In 2005, she switched from ITU racing to non-drafting where she raced two Ironman competitions, several half Ironman races and the 2005 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships where she placed fifth. Feeling overtrained, burned out and injured she switched to cycling in 2006. Butterfield raced as a cyclist for 4 years. In 2006, while racing in Europe, she won five races and had 15 podium placings. 2008 Vrienden Van Het Platteland Season
The 2008 women's road cycling season was the ninth and last season for the Vrienden van het Platteland (UCI code: VVP) cycling team, which began as ''Ondernemers van Nature'' in 2000. Ellen van Dijk became European Champion in the time trial and won the stage 2 of the 2008 Tour de l'Aude Cycliste Féminin and the prologue of 2008 Tour Féminin en Limousin. An Van Rie won the Belgian Time Trial Championships. However, the largest victories were on the track. Tyler Barbour Butterfield (born February 12, 1983) is an athlete from Bermuda. He competes in road bicycle racing and triathlon events. He became Bermuda's first ever professional triathlete in 2002. He was voted Bermuda's male athlete of the year in 2006 and 2013. Butterfield was the youngest male competitor at the second Olympic triathlon at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He placed thirty-fifth with a total time of 1:58:26.99. Butterfield was born in Pembroke Parish. In 2007, he competed for Team Slipstream, a UCI Professional Continental Team. Vrienden van het Platteland ( UCI Code: VVP) was a Dutch UCI women's road cycling team that existed in the 2000–2008 road cycling seasons. History 2006 One of the main new recruits for the team was former junior rider Ellen van Dijk. In March Ellen van Dijk became University World Champion at the 2006 World University Cycling Championship in the women's road race. and finished second in the women's time trial.
