Yuri Nikitin (author)
Yuri Aleksandrovich Nikitin (russian: Ю́рий Алекса́ндрович Ники́тин), born November 30, 1939, in Kharkov, USSR, is a Russian science fiction and fantasy writer. Although he was active in science fiction before perestroika, the recognition came when he wrote a Slavic fantasy novel, ''The Three from the Forest'' (Russian: Трое из Леса). One of the protagonists is a character based on the Russian Rurikid Prince Oleg of Novgorod, who is a mainstay of many sequels. Nikitin also wrote a couple of novels about Vladimir I of Kiev. Nikitin created websitecalled Inn (Russian: Корчма) as a community portal to help young writers. Nikitin's books have a distinct, free, and often intentionally primitive and repetitive style with many jokes, reflecting his intent to keep the reader on topic and carry his ideas through. Afanasiy Nikitin
Afanasy Nikitin (russian: Афана́сий Ники́тин; died 1472) was a Russian merchant from Tver and one of the first Europeans (after Niccolò de' Conti) to travel to and document his visit to India. He described his trip in a narrative known as '' The Journey Beyond Three Seas'' (russian: Хождение за три моря, ''Khozhdeniye za tri morya''). The voyage In 1466 Nikitin left his hometown of Tver on a commercial trip to India. He travelled down the Volga River, and although Tatars attacked and robbed him near Astrakhan, he succeeded in reaching Derbent, where he joined Vasili Papin, the envoy of Ivan the Great (the Grand Prince of All Rus') to the shah of Shirvan. At Derbent, Nikitin vainly endeavoured to find means of returning to Russia; failing in this, he went on to Baku and later to Persia proper by crossing the Caspian Sea. Victor Ivanovich Nikitin
Victor Ivanovich Nikitin,(Russian: Виктор Иванович Никитин), was a Soviet tenor soloist of the Alexandrov Ensemble, born in Syzran 12 February 1911 and died in Moscow 6 January 1994.Information from Liudmila Gurkova, daughter of Victor Nikitin. He is notable for being the first Mr Kalinka, and for being called "Ambassador Kalinka" by Erich Mückenberger after singing at the 1948 Berlin peace concert. Ivan Nikitich Nikitin (russian: link=no, Иван Никитич Никитин c. 1690–1741) was a Russian painter, an author of portraits and battle paintings. Biography Ivan Nikitin was born in Moscow to a family of an Russian Orthodox Church, Orthodox priest. He received his first artistic lessons from a Dutch artist Schwonbek at the engraving shop of the Kremlin Armoury. In 1711 the Armory together with Ivan Nikitin was moved to Saint Petersburg. In 1716–1720 he and his brother Roman Nikitin were sent to Italy by Peter I of Russia, Peter the Great. The brothers learnt the art of painting at Florence and Venice. Sergey Yakovlevich Nikitin (russian: link=no, Серге́й Яковлевич Никитин, born 8 March 1944) is a prominent Soviet and Russian bard, composer, and biophysicist. He performs both solo and in a duet with his wife, Tatyana Nikitina all over Russia, the former Soviet republics, and other countries with significant Russian-speaking diaspora. Tatiana Nikitina is a Linguistics, linguist conducting research into semantics, historical-comparative linguistics, formal syntax and linguistic typology. She has made a salient contribution to the study of reported speech. From an areal point of view, her work bears on Mande languages, Turkic languages, and some languages of Europe (Latin, Ancient Greek, Slavic languages...). Nikita Aleksandrovich Nikitin ('; born 16 June 1986) is a Russian professional ice hockey defenseman who currently plays for Traktor Chelyabinsk in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He formerly played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the St. Louis Blues, Columbus Blue Jackets and Edmonton Oilers. Basil Nikitin (1 January 1885 – 7 June 1960) was a Russian orientalist and diplomat. Basil Nikitin was born in Sosnowiec, a town in Poland, then part of the Russian Empire. Nikitin's family had several Orientalists. Therefore, he developed an interest in the subject as a boy. He took trips to the Black Sea region and the Caucasus. After graduation from high school in 1904, Nikitin traveled to Russia, where he enrolled at the Lazarev Institute to learn Persian and Turkish. In 1908, Nikitin applied for a job at the Foreign Ministry in Saint Petersburg. He was hired, and his first posting was to the Russian Embassy in Afghanistan. He served at the embassy for a year, returning to Paris and marrying. In 1911, Nikitin once again found himself in a Russian Embassy. This time it was as Vice-Consul in Rasht, Gilan. Sarah de Oliveira Nikitin (born December 27, 1988) is a Brazilian competitive archer. A member of Brazil's archery squad in three editions of the Pan American Games (2007, 2011, and 2015), and at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Nikitin scored her only career medal with a bronze over Venezuela's Leidys Brito in the women's individual recurve tournament at the 2014 South American Games in Santiago, Chile. Tatyana Khashimovna Nikitina (russian: Татьяна Хашимовна Никитина, born 31 December 1945) is a prominent Russian bard. She usually performs together with her husband, Sergey Nikitin. Biography She was born Tatiana Sadykova in Dushanbe (currently Tajikistan) on December 31, 1945. In 1971, she graduated from the Department of Physics of Moscow State University. In 1968, she began singing in a quintet led by her husband, Sergey Nikitin. They worked together as biophysicists (both have Ph.D.s in Physics) as well as singers, creating many popular songs.
