Nikita Kurbanov
Nikita Aleksandrovich Kurbanov (russian: Никита Александрович Курбанов; born October 5, 1986) is a Russian professional basketball player and the team captain of CSKA Moscow of the VTB United League. Standing at , Professional career Kurbanov made his professional debut with CSKA Moscow during the 2004–05 season. He then moved to Lokomotiv Rostov, before returning to CSKA Moscow. He joined UNICS Kazan in 2008, and he spent the 2008–09 season with Spartak St. Petersburg. He then moved back to CSKA Moscow once again. On June 17, 2014, he signed a 1+1 deal with Lokomotiv Kuban. On June 15, 2015, he signed a two-year contract with the option of third year with his former team CSKA Moscow. On May 5, 2017, Kurbanov was named VTB United League Defensive Player of the Year of the 2016–17 season. On June 18, 2021, Kurbanov extended his contract for another two (1+1) years. 2018–19 VTB United League
The 2018–19 VTB United League was the 10th complete season of the VTB United League. It was also the sixth season that the league functions as the Russian domestic first tier level. It started in October 2018 with the first round of the regular season and ended in June 2019 with the last game of the finals. CSKA Moscow is the defending champion. Format changes From this season, the top eight teams qualify for the playoffs. All series are played in a best-of-five format with a 2–2–1 structure. Russia National Basketball Team
The Russia men's national basketball team (russian: национа́льная сбо́рная Росси́и по баскетболу, natsionalnaya sbornaya rossii po basketbolu) represents Russia in international basketball competition. They are organized and run by the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF). The team came into existence after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and its Soviet Union national basketball team, national team. FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship
The FIBA U20 European Championship, previously known as the European Championship for Men '22 and Under', is a men's youth basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1992 edition. Through the 2004 edition, it was held biennially, but since 2005 edition, it is held every year. The tournament was originally an Under-22 age tournament, but it is now an Under-20 age tournament.
