Nikiforos
Nikiforos ( el, Νικηφόρος, tr, Nusratlı) is a village and a former municipality in the Drama regional unit, of East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform, it has been a municipal unit of the municipality of Paranesti. The municipal unit has an area of 240.998 km2. The 2011 census reported a population of 2,805 inhabitants in the municipal unit and 296 in the village. "Drama Köprüsü" The Rumelia Turkish folk song " Drama Köprüsü" (Bridge Of Drama), is set near Nikiforos. The two- to three-century-old bridge has been located between Nikiforos and the nearby village of Karyafiton. Research was conducted by Nikos Latsistalis, the chairman of the Drama Asia Minor Refugees Association with the help of a Turkish refugee from Drama to Bursa. Nikiforos railway station ( el, Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός Νικηφόρου, Sidirodromikós Stathmós Nikiforos) is a railway station that serves the Northern Greek village of Nikiforos, in Drama in East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. The station is located within the settlement limits. The neoclassical station building (as of 2021) is unstaffed and in a rundown state. The station building and some of its auxiliary buildings have been classified as monuments. History Opened in June 1895 on what was the Société du Chemin de Fer Ottoman Jonction Salonique-Constantinople JSC, build to connect Thessaloniki and Alexandroupoli. Ibrahim Pasha Of Egypt
Ibrahim Pasha ( tr, Kavalalı İbrahim Paşa; ar, إبراهيم باشا ''Ibrāhīm Bāshā''; 1789 – 10 November 1848) was an Ottoman Albanian general in the Egyptian army and the eldest son of Muhammad Ali, the Wāli and unrecognised Khedive of Egypt and Sudan. He served as a general in the Egyptian army that his father established during his reign, taking his first command of Egyptian forces when he was merely a teenager. In the final year of his life, he succeeded his still-living father as ruler of Egypt and Sudan, owing to the latter's ill health. His rule also extended over the other dominions that his father had brought under Egyptian rule, namely Syria, Hejaz, Morea, Thasos, and Crete. Drama Köprüsü
"Drama Köprüsü" (English "The Bridge of Drama") is a popular Turkish ''türkü'' (folk song) and a legend on which the song is based. Geography The song refers to the Drama Bridge. The town of Drama, which was then a part of the Ottoman Empire, is now in the East Macedonia and Thrace region of Greece. What is called a bridge in the song is actually an aqueduct between the villages of Nikiforos () and Karyafiton ( tr, Kozluköy). When viewed from the valley the aqueduct looks like a bridge. On 17 April 2010 Nikos Latsistalis, a member of a population exchangee from Adapazarı as well as the Chairman of Drama Asia Minor Refugees Association and a Turkish muhacir from Drama to Bursa collaborated to pinpoint the location of the "bridge". Drama ( el, Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Δράμας, ''Perifereiakí Enótita Drámas'') is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace. Its capital is the town of Drama. The regional unit is the northernmost within the geographical region of Macedonia and the westernmost in the administrative region of East Macedonia and Thrace.
