Niki (Greek Political Party)
The Democratic Patriotic Movement "Niki" (), often shortened to simply Niki (), is a far-right political party in Greece. It was founded by educator Dimitris Natsios in 2019. In the parliamentary elections of June 2023, the party received a percentage of 3.70%, electing 10 deputies to the Hellenic Parliament in which today, it forms the 7th Parliamentary Group. The party is regarded as nationalist, ultraconservative, and supportive of the Greek Orthodox Church. Its primary ideology is encapsulated in the triptych "Faith - Homeland - Family," a variant of the "Homeland - Religion - Family" (Patris - Thriskeia - Oikogeneia) slogan, a long-standing political identity of Greek nationalists. Most analysts agree that with the emergence of Niki, Greek Solution and the Spartans, the far-right has reappeared on the country's political scene. Dimitris Natsios
Dimitris Natsios (; born 1965) is a Greeks, Greek politician and Teacher, educator with a degree in Pedagogy and Theology. In 2019 he founded the Victory (Greek political party), Democratic Patriotic Movement – Victory, assuming the presidency of the party. Biography Dimitris Natsios was born into a large family. He is married and the father of three children. He studied pedagogy on the Pedagogical Academy of Thessaloniki and then theology at the school of theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is working as a primary education teacher for the last 35 years in schools in Cyclades and Kilkis. He is a columnist on issues of education, of political, social and theological content in newspapers, magazines and websites, while according to his biography he has published 12 books mainly on education issues. The Metapolitefsi ( el, Μεταπολίτευση, , " regime change") was a period in modern Greek history from the fall of the Ioaniddes military junta of 1973–74 to the transition period shortly after the 1974 legislative elections. The metapolitefsi was ignited by the liberalisation plan of military dictator Georgios Papadopoulos, which was opposed by prominent politicians such as Panagiotis Kanellopoulos and Stephanos Stephanopoulos, and halted by the massive Athens Polytechnic uprising against the military junta. The counter coup of Dimitrios Ioannides, and his coup d'etat against President of Cyprus Makarios III, which led to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, brought the dictatorship down.
