Nii Oakley Quaye-Kumah
Nii Oakley Quaye-Kumah is a Ghanaian politician and a Veterinary Surgeon. He was the member of parliament for the Krowor Constituency from 7 January 2009 to 6 January 2017. He was also the chief executive officer of a number of veterinary hospitals. Early life and education Quaye-Kumah was born on 26 September 1959. He hails from Nungua, in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. He obtained his Master of Veterinary Science from a university in Ukraine in 1989. Career Quaye-Kumah is a Veterinary Surgeon. Prior to entering politics, he was the chief executive officer of Beach Animal Hospital in Nungua and Westland Animal Hospital in West Legon, Accra. Politics Quaye-Kumah entered parliament on 7 January 2009 on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) representing the Krowor Constituency. 2016 Ghanaian General Election
General elections were held in Ghana on 7 December 2016 to elect a President and Members of Parliament. They had originally been scheduled for 7 November 2016, but the date was later rejected by Parliament. Former foreign minister Nana Akufo-Addo of the opposition New Patriotic Party was elected President on his third attempt, defeating incumbent President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress. The election results were announced on 9 December 2016 due to a delay of voting in two areas. At 19:51 local time, Mahama called Akufo-Addo to concede defeat. General elections were held in Ghana on Friday 7 December 2012 to elect a president and members of Parliament in 275 electoral constituencies. Owing to the breakdown of some biometric verification machines, some voters could not vote, and voting was extended to Saturday 8 December 2012.
