Nihat Akdoğan
Nihat Akdoğan (born 9 March 1980, Hakkâri, Turkey) is a Turkish politician of Kurdish descent. He was a politician of the Democratic Society Party (DTP) and a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP). Education Akdoğan was born in Hakkari, where he attended high school. Later he graduated from Anadolu University in Eskişehir in Public Administration Political career He was involved in the DTP. In the parliamentary elections of June and the snap election in November 2015 he was elected as an MP representing the HDP for Hakkari. He was arrested on the 7 November 2016 in Hakkari, and was transferred to the Silivri prison in Istanbul where he was held in solitary confinement. His arrest caused some controversy as Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş reported his "capture" at the entrance of Hakkari, while Akdoğan responded that he was arrested in the city centre, which was about 80 km from the location he sh ... Grand National Assembly Of Turkey
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey ( tr, ), usually referred to simply as the TBMM or Parliament ( tr, or ''Parlamento''), is the unicameral Turkish legislature. It is the sole body given the legislative prerogatives by the Turkish Constitution. It was founded in Ankara on 23 April 1920 in the midst of the National Campaign. This constitution had founded its pre-government known as 1st Executive Ministers of Turkey (Commitment Deputy Committee) in May 1920. Sultanbeyli () is a district of Istanbul, Turkey, located inland on the Asian side ( Anadolu Yakasi) of the city. It has a population of 298,143 as of 2011, more than triple the 1990 figure of 82,298. The mayor is Hüseyin Keskin of the Justice and Development Party. Sultanbeyli is a landlocked district, bordered by Sancaktepe to the west, Pendik to the east and Kartal to the south-west. History Historically the Sultanbeyli area was farmland on the far outskirts of Istanbul until 1945 when the large land holdings of the Ottoman period were broken up, and 7,500 acres of land around the old Ankara-Istanbul road was paralyzed for the settlement of Turkish migrants from Bulgaria. 2019 Turkish Local Elections
The Turkish local elections of 2019 were held on Sunday 31 March 2019 throughout the 81 provinces of Turkey. A total of 30 metropolitan and 1,351 district municipal mayors, alongside 1,251 provincial and 20,500 municipal councillors were elected, in addition to numerous local non-partisan positions such as neighbourhood wardens ( muhtars) and elderly people's councils. The governing Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) contested the elections in many provinces under a joint People's Alliance. Iraqi Kurdistan or Southern Kurdistan ( ku, باشووری کوردستان, Başûrê Kurdistanê) refers to the Kurdish-populated part of northern Iraq. 2018 Turkish Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Turkey on 24 June 2018 as part of general elections, with presidential elections taking place on the same day. Originally scheduled for 3 November 2019, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called snap elections on 18 April after months of speculation. With the passage of a series of constitutional amendments in the 2017 referendum, the number of MPs will be increased from the previous 550 to 600. These representatives will be elected by the constituents of the 87 electoral districts of Turkey by party-list proportional representation. The referendum in 2017 triggered a transition from a parliamentary system to an executive presidency. As such, the Grand National Assembly elected in 2018 was not entitled to appoint the prime minister and cabinet after the elections.
