Nightwork Films
Nightwork Films (a Dutch film production team consisting out of International Media and Entertainment Management students) has officially been founded on 21 October 2011. Their name, Nightwork Films, originates from when they were officially founded: in the middle of the night. As a sort of tradition, they regularly pull an all-nighter to finish their projects. The team was created to participate in thEntertainment Experience a Dutch filmmaking competition held by world-famous director Paul Verhoeven, with the goal to make the first user generated movie ever. Paul Verhoeven
Paul Verhoeven (; born 18 July 1938) is a Dutch director, producer and screenwriter, active in the Netherlands, France and the United States. His blending of graphic violence and sexual content with social satire is a trademark of both his drama and science fiction films. After receiving attention for the TV series '' Floris'' in his native Netherlands, Verhoeven got his film breakthrough with romantic drama ''Turkish Delight'' (1973), starring frequent collaborator Rutger Hauer. The film was nominated for Academy Award for Best Foreign Film and later received the award for Best Dutch Film of the Century at the Netherlands Film Festival. Verhoeven later directed successful Dutch films including the period drama ''Keetje Tippel'' (1975), the war film ''Soldier of Orange'' (1977), the teen drama ''Spetters'' (1980) and the psychological thriller ''The Fourth Man (1983 film), The Fourth Man'' (1983). Cannes Film Festival
The Cannes Festival (; french: link=no, Festival de Cannes), until 2003 called the International Film Festival (') and known in English as the Cannes Film Festival, is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres, including Documentary film, documentaries, from all around the world. Founded in 1946, the invitation-only festival is held annually (usually in May) at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. The festival was formally accredited by the FIAPF in 1951. On 1 July 2014, co-founder and former head of French pay-TV operator Canal+, Pierre Lescure, took over as President of the Festival, while Thierry Frémaux became the General Delegate. The board of directors also appointed Gilles Jacob as Honorary President of the Festival.
