Nightride (album)
''Nightride'' is the first digital album, second studio album, and sixth overall project released by American singer Tinashe. It was released on November 4, 2016, by RCA Records. Its first single, "Company" was released on September 16, 2016. The album also includes the promotional singles "Ride of Your Life" and "Party Favors". Unlike the single version of "Party Favors", the album version does not feature rapper Young Thug. Tinashe recorded the project while recording her third studio album '' Joyride''. The album peaked at number 89 on the US ''Billboard'' 200. The album's cover art features band members in an Ames room, and on the original vinyl release, the inner gatefold sleeve consisted of informal photos members of the group had taken of each other. In November 1974 the band released the only single from the album, an edited version of a Rossi/Young song entitled "Down Down". The single gave the band their only number-one hit to date. Its b-side was the Parfitt/Young album track "Nightride". When the album was released in February 1975, the group were more or less at the peak of their career, record sales-wise. The album entered the chart at #1. All tracks were written or co-written by the group and long-term collaborator Bob Young, apart from "Bye Bye Johnny", which was a Chuck Berry composition. Composition In 2008 Duane Denison joined the Legendary Shack Shakers, and the band shifted their sound, with Wilkes calling this new sound "agridustrial", explaining that it is "kind of chunky industrial patterns, but give it kind of a rustic feel ..like the sounds of farm implements, that clanking cacophony of rural industry. Kind of like how Johnny Cash used a train rhythm." Chad Radford of ''Creative Loafing'' described ''Agri-Dustrial'' as "an album that mashes the rhythmic industrial plod of farmland industry with wide-eyed rock and roll". According to ''Paste'' magazine, the album incorporates "anvils, hammers and other soul-crushing apparatuses" into its musical composition. Reception Chad Radford of ''Creative Loafing'' said that "distorte ...
