''Night Lights: A Collection of Previously Unreleased Songs'' is a compilation album released by American pop punk band Punchline A punch line (a. k. a. punch-line or punchline) concludes a joke; it is intended to make people laugh. It is the third and final part of the typical joke structure. It follows the introductory framing of the joke and the narrative which sets up ... on December 1, 2009, compiling 20 of the band's b-sides from the past 6–7 years. The album was released as a donation based digital album from the band's webstore. Any person who donated $6 or more got the complete album, while anyone who donated less (or nothing at all) got only the first six tracks. All proceeds go towards the recording of Punchine's next album. Punchline (band)
Punchline is an American rock band from Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, United States, that was formed in 1998. The band released its seventh full-length album, '' Thrilled'', on December 4, 2015, on InVogue Records. History 1998-2002: early years Punchline was formed in 1997 as a three-piece band consisting of Steve Soboslai (lead vocals, guitar), Chris Fafalios (bass guitar) PJ Caruso (drums). At the time, Fafalios was a senior in high school and Caruso and Soboslai were juniors. They played local shows and recorded their first album, '' How to Get Kicked Out of the Mall'', a blend of pop- and ska-influenced punk. In later recordings, the ska influence became less prominent. In 1999, the band self-produced and self-released the full-length ''Punchline'' album. After being joined by Paul Menotiades (guitar, vocals), they recorded and co-produced '' Major Motion Picture'' with Billy Rossi for an August 2001 release. Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. Modern Short Stories
Modern Short Stories is a Pittsburgh-based "media label" founded by Steve Soboslai and Chris Fafalios of the Pittsburgh pop punk band Punchline and friend Amanda Yu. Its slogan is "Every song is a modern short story." History Creation Modern Short Stories was created during summer 2008 in the fall-out of Punchline's departure from Fueled by Ramen Records. Between 2003 and early 2008, Fueled by Ramen released two full-length Punchline albums (2004's Action and 2006's 37 Everywhere), as well as a re-release of 2002's The Rewind EP. During this time, a number of their then-labelmates (Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, The Academy Is..., The Hush Sound, etc.) were becoming hugely popular, and Punchline became less prominent in the Fueled by Ramen lineup.
