Night Flight (2014 Film)
''Night Flight'' () is a 2014 South Korean drama film written, directed and edited by Leesong Hee-il. It made its world premiere in the Panorama section of the 64th Berlin International Film Festival on February 7, 2014, and was released in theaters in South Korea on August 28, 2014. Plot Three teenage boys, Shin Yong-joo, Han Ki-woong and Ko Ki-taek, were best friends in middle school. While Yong-joo and Ki-taek still remain close, Ki-woong becomes a ''jjang'' (Korean slang term meaning "best"), one of the strongest fighters in the school, and begins to hang out with Sung-jin's gang (Sung-jin's parents are powerful figures, making him a bigwig among his schoolmates), meaning he draws away from the other two, particularly when Yong-joo becomes concerned when he finds out that Sung-jin's gang is mercilessly bullying Ki-taek, an eccentric manhwa fan. Jeonju International Film Festival
Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF, Korean: 전주국제영화제, Hanja: 全州國際映畵祭) is an Asian film festival. It was launched in 2000 as a non-competitive film festival with partial competition. It introduces independent and experimental films to focus on the alternative course of contemporary film art. In the first edition of JIFF, debut films of Darren Aronofsky were introduced to South Korea. For the first time in Asia, Jiff highlighted early works of Béla Tarr as well. The winners of Jeonju IFF's ''International Competition Section'' include Ying Liang, John Akomfrah and Miike Takashi. Another point of Jeonju is that it produces movies as well. The 2nd Wildflower Film Awards () is an awards ceremony recognizing the achievements of Korean independent and low-budget films. It was held at the Literature House in Seoul on April 9, 2015. The selection committee was composed of 25 film professionals and regular audience members who met often to view and discuss new releases; their nomination list was further narrowed in the final voting stage by invited critics and programmers. 21 films were nominated across 10 categories from a pool of 60 narrative films and 30 documentaries, each with a budget under () and released theatrically between January 1 and December 31, 2014. The nine categories from the inaugural ceremony were expanded to ten this year. The Stockholm International Film Festival ( sv, Stockholms filmfestival, italic=no) is an annual film festival held in Stockholm, Sweden. It was launched in 1990 and has been held every year since then during the second half of November.
