Senate Of Nigeria
The Senate is the upper chamber of Nigeria's bicameral legislature, the National Assembly of Nigeria. The National Assembly (popularly referred to as NASS) is the nation's highest legislature, whose power is to make laws, is summarized in chapter one, section four of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution. It consists of 109 senators: the 36 states are each divided in 3 senatorial districts each electing one senator using the first-past-the-post electoral system; the Federal Capital Territory elects only one senator also using first-past-the-post. The President of the Senate is the presiding officer of the Senate, whose chief function is to guide and regulate the proceedings in the Senate. Anyimchukwu Ude
Anyim Chukwu Ude (born 1 June 1941) was elected Senator for the Ebonyi South constituency of Ebonyi State, Nigeria, taking office on 29 May 2007. He is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Career in broadcasting Before going to the Senate, Senator Ude had a career in the Nigerian Public Service spanning 42 years. Joseph Obinna Ogba (born 1961 in Ebonyi State, Nigeria) is a Nigerian politician. He is the senator representing Ebonyi Central senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate. Sam Egwu
Sam Ominyi Egwu CON (born 20 June, 1954) is a Nigerian politician and member of People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigeria. He was elected Governor of Ebonyi State in the 1999 Ebonyi State gubernatorial election from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. Julius Ucha (born 19 October 1958) was elected Senator for the Ebonyi Central constituency of Ebonyi State, Nigeria, taking office on 29 May 2003, and was reelected in 2007. Anthony O. Agbo was elected Senator for the Ebonyi North constituency of Ebonyi State, Nigeria, taking office on 29 May 2007. He is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
