Nicolás Jarry (tennis)
Nicolás Jarry Fillol (; born 11 October 1995) is a Chilean professional tennis player. He achieved his highest ATP singles ranking of world No. 26 in July 2023 and is the current Chilean No. 1. His highest doubles ranking of world No. 40 was achieved in March 2019. He has won three ATP titles, in singles at Båstad 2019, Santiago 2023 and Geneva 2023. He also has won two titles in doubles on the ATP Tour. Personal life He is the grandson of Jaime Fillol, a former ATP player who won seven titles, and the great-nephew of Álvaro Fillol. His aunt, Catalina Fillol, is the tournament director of the Chile Open in Santiago, Chile. Kyle Edmund
Kyle Steven Edmund (born 8 January 1995) is a South African born-British professional tennis player. He has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 14 and was the top-ranked male British tennis player from March 2018 through October 2019. Edmund is an Australian Open semifinalist, and only the sixth British man to play in a major singles semifinal in the Open Era. He won his maiden ATP Tour title at Antwerp in October 2018. Edmund made his Davis Cup debut in the 2015 final, against Belgium, with Great Britain winning the tournament for the first time in 79 years. Cristian Ignacio Garín Medone (; born 30 May 1996) is a Chilean professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 17 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in singles, which he first achieved on 13 September 2021, and is the current Chilean No. 2. He also has a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 206, achieved on 10 May 2021. Garín became the youngest Chilean player to win an ATP Tour match, by defeating Dušan Lajović at 16 years and 8 months old in the first round of the 2013 VTR Open. Chile Open (tennis)
The Chile Open (also known as the Chile Dove Men+Care Open for sponsorship reasons) is a professional men's tennis tournament played on outdoor red clay courts in Santiago, Chile. In its history it was held alternately in Viña del Mar city and in 2010, Colina. It is part of the ATP Tour 250 of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour and part of the four-tournament Golden Swing. History In 1992, Brazil suspended its three ATP tournaments. When the ATP resolved to keep these tournaments in Latin America, brothers Jaime and Álvaro Fillol decided to buy the organizing rights to hold one of these events in Chile. Álvaro Fillol (born 4 December 1952), is a former professional tennis player from Chile. He enjoyed most of his tennis success while playing doubles. During his career he won 5 doubles titles. Jaime Fillol
Jaime José Fillol Durán (born 3 June 1946), known professionally as Jaime Fillol Sr., is a retired professional tennis player from Chile, who played in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Fillol was ranked as high as world No. 14 in singles on the ATP rankings (achieving that ranking on 2 March 1974) and No. 82 in doubles (2 January 1984). In the Open era (after 1968), Fillol won 6 singles titles and 16 doubles titles. In addition he was a founding member and one of the first ATP Presidents. As President of the ATP, Fillol had a passion to create the first pension plan of the ATP and thus it was named after him. Fillol is also a member of the University of Miami "Hall of Fame" where he graduated in 1969. The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) is the governing body of the men's professional tennis circuits – the ATP Tour, the ATP Challenger Tour and the ATP Champions Tour. It was formed in September 1972 by Donald Dell, Jack Kramer, and Cliff Drysdale to protect the interests of professional tennis players, and Drysdale became the first President. Since 1990, the association has organized the ATP Tour, the worldwide tennis tour for men and linked the title of the tour with the organization's name.
