Nicole Levesque
Nicole Levesque (Andres) (born April 11, 1972) is a former American basketball player who played point guard at Wake Forest and for the Charlotte Sting in the WNBA. In 1999, she was named to Sports Illustrated's 50 Greatest Sports Figures from Vermont, and is the only Vermonter to ever play in the WNBA. High school After a standout playing career at Mount Anthony Union High School in Bennington, Vermont, where she helped the Patriots capture two Division I state titles in 1988 and 1990 while scoring a total of 1,938 points in her career, good for fifth all-time in the state. She was also a standout soccer player who scored 148 goals for Mount Anthony, which was a state record until 2015. College career In 1990 Levesque headed to Wake Forest, where she set a number of school records. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Above all, the point guard must understand and accept their coach's game plan; in this way, the position can be compared to a quarterback in American football. America East Conference
The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I founded in 1979, whose members are located in the Northeastern United States. The conference has nine core members including eight public research universities, three of which, the University of Maine, the University of New Hampshire, and the University of Vermont, are the flagship universities of their states. The two non-flagship university centers of the State University of New York are in the conference: the University at Albany and Binghamton University. Bryant University is the only private university among the core membership. Of the nine members, eight are located within the borders of 7 contiguous states.
