Nicolai Mejdell
Christian Henrik Nicolai Mejdell (21 April 1822 – 1899) was a Norwegian mining engineer. He was born in Vang, Hedmark. He took his mining examination in 1843. He worked as manager of Selbu Copper Works and Kongsberg Silver Works, and from 1865 he was the mine superintendent ( no, bergmester) for all of South-Eastern Norway. He was also an editor-in-chief of the newspaper '' Christiania-Posten'', and issued books. He was a nephew of officer Jacob Gerhard Meydell, brother of forester Thorvald Mejdell and the father of jurist and writer Glør Thorvald Mejdell. Through his sister Cecilie Marie Mejdell he was a brother-in-law of Matthias Wilhelm Sinding and an uncle of Christian, Otto and Stephan Sinding Stephan Abel Sinding (4 August 1846 – 23 January 1922) was a Norwegian-Danish sculptor. ''Christiania-Posten'' was a short-lived newspaper in Oslo, Norway. The paper began publication on 17 May 1848; it was edited by Carl Arntzen and Ludvig Vibe. In 1853 Ludvig Kristensen Daa took over the editorship; the newspaper's political allegiance subsequently changed from conservative to liberal. Upon Daa's 1856 leave the newspaper changed allegiance back and forth several times; it also had changing editors. Vang, Hedmark
Vang is a former municipality in the old Hedmark county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1992 when it became part of Hamar Municipality. The administrative centre of the municipality was at Fredvang. This site, however became part of the town of Hamar in 1946, so after that time, the municipal administration was actually located outside the municipal borders in the neighboring municipality. The main church for the municipality was Vang Church in the village of Ridabu. Gåsbu Ski Center lies in Vang Almenning, and has served as the backup venue for the ''Holmenkollrennene''. This arena has been described as the cradle of all Nordic ski competition, with more than 112 years of international ski competition. Anton Wilhelm Brøgger (archeologist)
Anton Wilhelm Brøgger (11 October 1884 – 29 August 1951) was a Norwegian archaeologist. Personal life He was born in Stockholm as a son of professor of geology Waldemar Christofer Brøgger (1851–1940) and Antonie Scheel Siewers (1854–1933). He was a grandson of the book printer Anton Wilhelm Brøgger. In September 1909 he married Inger Ursin (1882–1941). He had the sons Waldemar Christofer Brøgger (1911–1991) and Niels Christian Brøgger (1914–1966), and through the former, the grandson Jan Brøgger. Career Brøgger finished his secondary education in 1903, but his higher education was sporadic. Without a formal examination, he wrote the paper ''Øxer av Nøstvettypen'', which was published in 1905 by the Norwegian Geological Survey. Einar Jansen
Einar Jansen (27 March 1893 – 13 December 1960) was a Norwegian historian, genealogist and archivist. He was born in Røyken as the son of priest Jens Jonas Jansen (1844–1912) and Jenny Therese Schroeter (1863–1942). He was a nephew of Jens Fredrik Schroeter. The family soon moved to Sandvika, and after finishing his secondary education in 1911, he enrolled in philology at the University of Kristiania, graduating with the cand.philol. degree in 1919. His final paper, ''Det suspensive lovvetos anvendelse i norsk konstitusjonel praksis'', mixed history and constitutional law. He worked in the National Archives of Norway from 1921 to 1934, and then as the leader of the National Archival Services of Norway in Bergen from 1934 to 1960. He then resigned to write a major genealogical work, but died before New Year. He was also a member of the editorial staff of the biographical dictionary ''Norsk biografisk leksikon''.
