Nicolae Esinencu
Nicolae Esinencu (13 August 1940 – 25 April 2016) was a Moldovan poet, screenwriter and writer. He was born in Chiţcani, in the Teleneşti district of Moldova, which was then part of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic. Esinencu attended the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute in Moscow between 1971 and 1975, then his first writing credit was for co-writing the screenplay for Vlad Ioviță's 1975 film ''Calul, pușca și nevasta''. The two then collaborated on other projects. In 2010, friends organised a celebration for his seventieth birthday and true to his reputation as a "terrible child" he did not turn up. He was a member of the Moldovan Writers' Union and the Writers' Union of Romania. He died on April 25, 2016. Order Of The Republic (Moldova)
The Order of the Republic ( ro, Ordinul Republicii) is Moldova's highest order. It is awarded by the President of Moldova for exceptional merits in all fields which benefit Moldova and humanity as a whole. The order was established in July 1992 and its collar and badge are made from silver. A recipient cannot receive the award twice. The next (lower) award is the Order of Ștefan cel Mare. Vlad Ioviță
Vlad Ioviţă (December 25, 1935, Cocieri, USSR - June 23, 1983, Chişinău, Moldavian SSR) was a film director from Moldova also known as a writer and publicist. Biography Vlad Ioviţă was born on December 25, 1935, in Cocieri. He received his training at the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet (1954), and then followed the High Courses for Scriptwriters and Film Directors (1962-1964), then worked for Moldova-Film. Also, Vlad Ioviţă fulfilled the function of secretary of the Union of Filmmakers of Moldova (1981-1983). He was awarded the State Prize and the honorary title of Merited Artist (1982). He died on June 23, 1983, in Chisinau municipality, being buried in his native village. ''Tunul de lemn'' ( English: The Wooden Cannon) is a 1986 Soviet drama film directed by Vasile Brescanu. Plot The movie follows the life of an elderly man, David, who lives with his daughter-in-law, Maria, in their rural home by an unspecified body of water. Maria's husband, Andrei, is a soldier fighting in World War II, and it is shown that the two have not received any news from him in some time. A German bomber plane flies over David and Maria's home daily and disrupts their livelihoods, having already killed their livestock and threatening to destroy their house. David attempts to bargain, even offering that Maria undress for the Germans in exchange for their house being left alone. These negotiations eventually fall through, and the man seeks help to destroy the plane. He manages to find and bring home a cannon but inadvertently launches the cannon's only projectile at the house, nearly causing it to collapse. Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic
The Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic ( ro, Republica Sovietică Socialistă Moldovenească, Moldovan Cyrillic: ) was one of the 15 republics of the Soviet Union which existed from 1940 to 1991.
