Nicola Rigoni
Nicola Rigoni (born 12 November 1990) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. Club career Vicenza A promising midfielder, and younger brother of Serie A footballer Luca Rigoni, he made his professional debut in the final weeks of the 2006–07 season with Vicenza. He then spent the 2007–08 season with the ''Primavera'' (under-20) squad, and collecting another first team appearance in the season. He was permanently promoted to the first team in the second part of the 2008–09 season, and his performances led Serie A outfit Palermo to sign the player in a bid which involved also the co-ownership of Sicilian youngster and Italian under-20 international Gianvito Misuraca, who joined Vicenza from the ''rosanero'' youth system. Schio
Schio is a town and comune in the province of Vicenza (region of Veneto, northern Italy) situated north of Vicenza and east of the Lake Garda. It is surrounded by the Little Dolomites (Italian Prealps) and Mount Pasubio. History Its name comes from Latin: ''escletum'' was a wood of oaks and it was first used in a document of some Benedictines from Vicenza. The first settlements were around two old hills, where now there are respectively the ruins of an old castle and a majestic neoclassical cathedral. By the 12th century Schio had become an important centre of prosperous wool manufacturing. The city was ruled by the Venetian Maltraversi family until 1311. Luca Di Matteo (born 25 February 1988) is an Italian footballer who plays as a left back. Career Di Matteo started his career with Pescara, establishing himself as a player with good potential despite his young age. On January 31, 2008 Palermo signed Di Matteo from then Serie C1 club Pescara, together with teammate Edgar Çani in co-ownership deal for €500,000 and €600,000 respectively. 2007–08 Serie B
The 2007–08 Serie B regular season is the seventy-sixth since its establishment. It started on August 25, 2007, and ended with the promotion playoff final on June 15, 2008. At the end of the year, three teams were promoted to Serie A, the first two via direct promotion (league champions, Chievo Verona, and Bologna), and the third team after two rounds of playoffs (Lecce). Four teams were relegated to Serie C1. The bottom three were relegated directly (Cesena, Spezia and Ravenna), as was the fourth-to-last team (Avellino), since they finished 9 points back of the fifth-to-last, Treviso, denying them a chance at a survival "relegation-playoff". The 2006–07 Serie B season is the 75th season since its establishment in 1929. It started on 9 September 2006 and ended on 10 June 2007. The 22 clubs in Serie B each played 42 matches during the regular season. The 2006–07 season marked the first Serie B appearance for two clubs, Frosinone and then 27-time Italian champions Juventus, whose involvement in the league was a direct result of the ''Calciopoli'' rulings and not competition in the previous Serie A season.
