Nicky Carle
Nicholas Alberto Carle (born 23 November 1981 in Sydney, Australia) is an Australian retired football (soccer) attacking midfielder who played for Sydney Olympic, Troyes AC, Marconi Stallions, Newcastle Jets, Gençlerbirliği, Bristol City, Crystal Palace, Baniyas and Sydney FC. Club career Carle is of Uruguayan and Chilean descent. As a junior, Carle won five national futsal titles. During his days as a teenage schoolboy, he played football for his high school, Patrician Brothers' College, Fairfield. He helped his school win the Bill Turner Cup competition in 1996. Sydney Olympic Carle began his career as a 15-year-old at Sydney Olympic in the NSL, making his NSL debut on 5 October 1997. After coming on as a substitute in the 75th minute, he scored an injury time winner against Marconi Stallions. Archie Gerald Thompson (born 23 October 1978) is an Australian former professional association football, footballer. He also is serving as a club ambassador for Melbourne Victory FC. Born in New Zealand, Thompson played youth football at the New South Wales Institute of Sport before going on to play numerous seasons in the National Soccer League and A-League. Daniel Lee Allsopp (born 10 August 1978) is an Australian former soccer player who played as a striker. As a player he notably played for Manchester City for several seasons and was part of their team that earned promotion back to the Premier League in 2000, whilst also spending time on loan with Notts County, Wrexham and Bristol Rovers. The Johnny Warren Medal is awarded to the best player of the Australian national soccer club competition. It was first awarded in the National Soccer League in 1990, and upon the NSL's demise in November 2004, was carried forward into the new national club competition, the A-League. Marconi Stallions Football Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Fairfield, Sydney, New South Wales. The club has been crowned Australian champion four times. The Stallions are the soccer team of Club Marconi, a social and sporting club founded in 1958 by immigrants from Italy who settled in Sydney's western suburbs. The National Soccer League (NSL) was the top-level soccer league in Australia, run by Soccer Australia and later the Australian Soccer Association.
