Nick Ries
Nick Ries (born 14 July 1982) is a former Australian rules footballer who played as a midfielder for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted at pick 21 in the 2000 AFL Draft. From 2002 to 2004 he played 60 out of a possible 66 matches until the arrival of Alastair Clarkson as senior coach. He was one of several players former club legend David Parkin labeled as a ''Mummy's Boy'' because of his lightweight frame. He slipped down the selection order in 2005 and managed only nine games in 2006, and was delisted at the end of the season. He was nominated for the AFL Rising Star award in Round 17 of the 2002 AFL season. Alastair Clarkson
Alastair Thomas Clarkson (born 27 April 1968) is an Australian rules football coach and former player who is currently the head coach of the North Melbourne Football Club. He was previously the head coach of the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 2005 to 2021 where he won 4 premierships (2008, 2013,2014,2015). Hailing from the small town of Kaniva, Victoria, Clarkson played eleven seasons of AFL football – nine for North Melbourne (1987–1995) followed by two for Melbourne (1996–1997). David Parkin
David Alex Parkin, OAM (born 12 September 1942) is a former Australian rules footballer and coach who played for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and for the Subiaco Football Club in the Western Australian National Football League (WANFL). However, Parkin's stature in the history of Australian rules football is based mainly on his achievements as a coach. Building on his experience as a player and educator, Parkin won four premierships (one at Hawthorn, three at Carlton) and is considered one of the most influential coaches of the modern era. The Sandringham Football Club, nicknamed The Zebras, is an Australian rules football club based in Melbourne which was formed in 1929 and plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL) which was formerly called the Victorian Football Association (VFA). The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football.
