Nick Page
Nick Page is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'', played by Mark Stevens. He made his first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 22 July 1988. Stevens auditioned for the role alongside forty other actors and successfully made it through screen-tests. Nick is characterised as a tough orphan who is made homeless following the death of his grandmother. Nick is also portrayed as problematic and wayward, causing trouble for other characters in the show. Stevens has stated in different interviews that he self-identifies with Nick's tough persona. Writers created stories for Nick which eventually lead to him becoming a "nicer" character. His stories see him fostered by Helen Daniels (Anne Haddy) and moving in with her family. Mark Stevens (singer)
Mark Stevens is an Australian singer, songwriter, actor and worship leader. Stevens began his career after a winning a talent contest in his birth place, Hobart. His win attracted the attention the producer of Network 10's musical variety show ''Young Talent Time''. Stevens was invited to join the cast and his family relocated to Melbourne to facilitate his career. As a member of ''Young Talent Time'', Stevens recorded music for an official album release and took part in the Australian city tour. He decided to leave the series after more than three years. He then successfully auditioned for the role of teenage tearaway Nick Page, in the soap opera ''Neighbours''. Stevens remained with the show for two years before concentrating solely on his music career. He signed a record deal with major label BMG and teamed up with Nik Kershaw creating new music. The following is a list of characters that first appeared in the serial in 1988, by order of first appearance. Ian Smith (actor)
Ian Smith (born 19 June 1938) is an Australian actor, television producer and screenwriter. Smith appeared in roles for Crawford Productions, before working as a producer, screenwriter and actor on the cult series ''Prisoner'' and the soap opera ''Neighbours'' as Harold Bishop from 1987 when the series was taken over by Network Ten until 1991. He returned to the role in 1996 and continued as a series regular until 2009, with subsequent guest appearances in 2011, 2015 and 2022. Harold Bishop
Harold Wayne Bishop is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'', played by Ian Smith. The actor was offered the role by the show's creator and executive producer Reg Watson. Smith made his first screen appearance as Harold during the episode broadcast on 30 January 1987. He departed in September 1991, but returned five years later in October 1996. Harold remained on screen for over twelve years, making him one of the longest-running characters in the show's history. Alan Dale
Alan Hugh Dale (born 6 May 1947) is a New Zealand actor. As a child, Dale enjoyed theatre and rugby. After retiring from the sport, he took on a number of occupations, before deciding to become a professional actor at age 27. Dale subsequently moved to Australia, where he played Dr. John Forrest in ''The Young Doctors'' from 1979 to 1982. He later appeared as Jim Robinson in ''Neighbours'', a part he played from 1985 until 1993. He left the series when he fell out with the producers over the pay he and the rest of the cast received. In 2018, it was revealed that Dale would reprise his role as Jim for one episode of ''Neighbours'', 25 years after his last appearance. Jim Robinson (Neighbours)
Jim Robinson is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'', played by Alan Dale. Jim was created by Reg Watson as one of ''Neighbours'' twelve original characters. He made his on-screen debut in the soap's first episode, which was broadcast on 18 March 1985. Jim was the patriarch of the Robinson family. Dale departed the show in 1993 after falling out with the producers over pay and his character was killed off on 29 April 1993. Dale filmed some scenes for the serial in September 2018, which aired on 25 December 2018 and 25 March 2019.
